Our engineering department consists of 200+ people across multiple teams, such as application development, infrastructure, data platform, machine learning, and security. To get there, we obsess over iteratively delivering customer value through rapid prototyping and data-driven decision-making.
We are seeking a motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our Business Intelligence Engineering team. On the BI Engineering team, you’ll help build and shape the backbone for analytics needs across the organization. You’ll work with Analysts, Data & ML Engineers, as well as other internal teams to define and shape self-service analytics and a data-driven organization. You’ll support the relationship between the BI/Analytics, External Reporting, Product, Data Platform and domain engineering teams as we build out robust data solutions for our AI and Core Products.If you are a self-starter, excited about building a data-driven culture, and motivated by making an impact, then you may be a good fit for this role.

- You will work with teams across the company to define BI and analytics requirements
- You will work alongside data engineers to develop data models to feed dashboards for teams across the org, as well as client-facing analytics
- You will work with data engineers and analysts to design dimensional data models and build scalable data pipelines for BI
- You are a self starter with a high desire to learn
- You have experience leading projects end-to-end with drama free-launches
- You are proficient with SQL and Python
- You have experience with designing and building ETL/ELT models
- You are a team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
- You have experience mentoring junior members of a team
- 5+ years of data engineering experience
About you
- You have proficiency or experience with Airflow
- You have proficiency or experience with AWS
- You have proficiency or experience with DBT
- You have proficiency or experience with Snowflake
- You have familiarity with a BI visualization tool like Looker or Tableau

- 8,000 brands powered by Attentive sent over 2.2 billion text messages over Cyber Week 2023 (Black Friday/Cyber Monday) representing a growth of 31% from 2022
- We sent 32 billion SMS messages in 2023, up 32% YoY. That’s an average of 87 million per day
- Our production cluster contains over 18,000 containers which serve 200+ services
- Our streaming services process over 80 billion events per month
What we use
- We have access to Python, Snowflake, SQL, DBT for analysis
- Our data visualization tool is Looker
- Our product backend is Java and Python microservices coupled with Spark, Kinesis, Airflow, Snowflake, and Postgres, all hosted on AWS
- Our team supports stakeholders from Client Strategy, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Designers and the Leadership Team

- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $146,000 - $220,000 annually + equity + benefits
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location
