Description

As Attensi continues to grow, we find ourselves on a side quest to recruit another fullstack developer for our platform team. We are a team of 12 eager developers, and we are responsible for continuously developing and maintaining the cloud infrastructure and backend shared by all products in the Attensi Technology Platform.

Most of our backend developers speak Ruby, and work on the main backend service. Surrounding this service are a number of C# based “microservices”, responsible for engagement campaigns, access control to content, various proxy services, leaderboards, etc. Currently, only a few developers are working on these, and we need more.

Right next to the C# platform team is the Attensi Tools and Attensi Unity teams, both of which are working in C#, so even though the C# section of the platform team is small, the C# community within the development team as a whole is considerable.

We have introverts and extroverts, early birds and don’t-talk-to-me-before-coffee birds, young adventurers and bearded wizards, windows users and fruit enthusiasts, people who can’t wait for Holmenkollstafetten and those that can’t wait for it to be over so we can enjoy good food and drinks. Nonetheless, we are all engaged to do our part in delivering the best possible solutions for our customers!

Are you our next Game Changer?

What will you do?
As a fullstack developer at Attensi you will be part of a multidisciplinary team doing agile development, testing and delivery. Your days will be spent working closely with other developers, both on the C# and Ruby side, as well as the Tools and Unity teams that rely on the backend services, in addition to our colleagues in the rest of the organization to improve and enhance the products in the Attensi Technology Platform.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Developing services on the backend of Attensi's web products.
  • Develop and establish secure and scalable APIs, and influence our technical discussions and decisions with your insight and knowledge. Currently, important decisions revolve around scalability, capacity planning, standardization across services, and security.

Any developer on the team will constantly be working to balance live-fixes and the development of new long-term functionality. No matter what we develop, we are all a fan of automization and flexible solutions developed with scalability in mind.

Who are you?
We would love to work with someone that is experienced and possesses good knowledge of API management and microservices.

In addition, we hope you:

  • Enjoy being hands-on and are eager to share your experience and knowledge.
  • Are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to technical discussions and decisions.
  • Consider yourself a team player who thrives on creating value together with others.
  • Are passionate about development and have a strong understanding of business-critical areas like scalability, capacity planning and security.
  • Ideally, bring the experience of building and scaling digital products to a large number of users and clients.
  • As gamified simulation training is our core business, it doesn't hurt if you have an interest in games and game development either.
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written, is a requirement. If you speak Norwegian, that’s great too. If you want to learn, any Norwegian in the office is exhilarated to help you.

On the tech side of things, our infrastructure is hosted on AWS, and technologies used currently include: .Net Core, Ruby on Rails, AWS, PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, Redis, Memcached, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Linux, Github, Vue.js - experience of working with some of these is a must. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Travis CI, CircleCI, and/or AWS Codepipeline etc could come in handy too.

What can we offer you?
Working at Attensi means working in one of Norway's most exciting and fastest growing scale-ups. Here you get to work on exciting challenges in a dynamic and innovative environment with global ambitions.

We make educational games, not spreadsheet software. We use virtual reality to convey a message, not a hard copy manual.

We represent a flat, open and free environment, made up by more than a 240 (and counting) committed, smart and talented colleagues from a variety of backgrounds, both culturally and academically. At Attensi people are given the opportunity to grow with the company and we would be happy to develop the role with you over time.

Attensi has a young, energetic and social work environment. We work hard, but also have a lot of fun together. Monthly social activities like demo days, afterwork, game nights, company trips or sports events are some of the ways in which we ensure we not only work- but also play together. Our offices are located at Oslo Science Park, which is an existing environment with many other startups and scale-ups.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We prioritize job seekers as our customers, unlike bigger job sites, by charging a small fee to provide them with curated access to the best companies and up-to-date jobs. This focus allows us to deliver a more personalized and effective job search experience.
  • Salaries for the engineering jobs on our site range from $100K-$200K. On average, senior engineer positions on our EchoJobs are about $160K.
  • The EchoJobs positions have been sourced and vetted from the top companies to work for in the US as a software engineer, including LinkedIn and other reputable job sites. We also have syndicated jobs from companies that have just raised funding, as well as those that have great unique products and culture. From all of these sources, our founder, Morgan, has also resourced the company's authenticity in terms of their website, public appearance, and more.
  • Yes, our users asked us for just this, so now our search filters allow you to search for your top jobs via location, as well as by onsite, remote, or both. Approximately 30% of our jobs are remote, so you’ve got the best options for you!
  • We have not yet implemented this option, but are considering doing so in the future. For the moment, you would need to cancel your subscription, and resubscribe when you wanted to come back.
  • We add new jobs to EchoJobs every day! We scan our sources for the newest jobs, verify them, and post them to EchoJobs within minutes. We add about 2,000-3,000 new jobs for you each day!
  • From starting your job search to getting hired, the entire job search process can take us software engineers anywhere between 3-6 months. However, at EchoJobs, we’re striving to shorten this duration by finding the best, newest jobs for you, so you can do less job searching, and more applying.
  • We’d recommend checking EchoJobs daily, as we add new jobs to the site each day. Additionally, if you got a chance to read our previous email on “what makes EchoJobs different from any other job search tools,” we also recommended that you set a job alert based on your job filters, so if you get emails on those new jobs, you could be checking more than once per day.
  • If you decide to continue with us after the 1-month trial, we definitely recommend this, as we all know it usually takes 3-6 months to find a quality job as a software engineer these days. So to best support you, we just adjusted our membership options at EchoJobs to monthly, 3 months, or 12 months (this option is more for passive job seekers looking a little bit for the future if they want to come back to work or make a job switch potentially. This lets you see what’s out there in case an even better fit job becomes available.)
  • EchoJobs is truly the only job site of its kind. We want to be THE spot for you to find the best job for you, and haven’t encountered any other company doing this. Other job sites are in niches besides software engineering or focus on a small portion of engineering jobs (like a specific coding language). In the words of Morgan, our founder, “I think what makes EchoJobs different is the amount of jobs, frequency that we add new jobs (we add 2,000-3,000 new jobs daily!), and the powerful search engines to find exactly the job you want more easily and efficiently. We can provide you with the most jobs that are vetted by us, we’ll continually find more new jobs for you, and we make it easier for you to apply and get hired.
