About Atlassian Teams

Atlassian Teams is a part of the broader Atlassian Home group. We work in an exciting space, delivering some of the key experiences that tie our products together and bring the Atlassian System of Work story to life. We own the Atlassian Home experience itself, along with Atlassian Teams, Atlassian Goals, Atlassian Projects, and all the other cool things that help pull them together like Tags and Metrics. We strive to both build valuable product experiences around these concepts, and to embed them deeply into the product suite as platform capabilities.

In particular, this M60 role is focused on building a new, additional team to focus on Atlassian Teams. Today, Teams is minimally integrated into Jira and Confluence. Over the next year or two, we have a bold ambition to deeply integrate Teams into all of our products, making Teams a core part of every user’s Atlassian experience. With the vision laid out, we now need to grow the team quickly and hit the ground running in order to start delivering on it!

This is also our first time hiring a team in India, so the focus will be on establishing a high performing, balanced team in the new geo, setting up effective working methods for both Australia- and India-based teams, and supporting and growing your team.

The tech stack

Across Atlassian Home we use a wide range of technologies: React, Relay, Typescript, GraphQL, Kotlin, Java, Postgres and Dynamo to name the key ones. The Teams team primarily use Java, Dynamo, React & Typescript.

What you’ll do

• Hire, lead, inspire and grow a whole new team of engineers

• Embrace a product engineering mindset, partnering with engineers, designers and product managers to deliver high quality features

• Contribute to the definition of goals and strategy for your team

• Provide engineering leadership direction and guidance

• Drive quality standards in the team and improve them

Your background

• 5+ years of experience leading and developing a team of software engineers

• Experience building large-scale, web-based enterprise software

• Experience working with Product Management and influencing the roadmap

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies

• A track record of execution, risk management, and delivering outcomes

• Passion for product, and delivering value to customers
