Overview

We are seeking an experienced OCI Platform Specialist to design, implement, administer, secure, and optimise enterprise workloads hosted on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing OCI platform services, cloud governance, automation, operational excellence, security compliance, high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimisation.

The role requires close collaboration with infrastructure, application, database, cybersecurity, ERP, and business teams to ensure cloud platforms support business-critical applications and services while adhering to enterprise architecture, security, and operational standards.

Your Role

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and manage OCI cloud environments across multiple compartments, tenancies, and regions.
• Administer OCI services including:
• Compute Instances
• Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN)
• Load Balancers
• Block, Object, and File Storage
• Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• OCI Monitoring and Logging
• Autonomous Database Services
• Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE)
• OCI Container Registry
• OCI Vault and Security Services
• Ensure platform availability, performance, scalability, and resilience.

Cloud Architecture & Engineering

• Develop and maintain OCI reference architectures and cloud standards.
• Support cloud migration, modernization, and transformation programs.
• Architect secure and highly available solutions leveraging OCI native capabilities.
• Design hybrid cloud connectivity solutions integrating OCI with on-premises data centres and other cloud providers.
• Implement disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.

Platform Operations

• Manage day-to-day OCI operations acting as L3, monitoring, incident resolution, and service requests.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, storage, and platform-related issues.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
• Administer backup, recovery, patching, and upgrade activities.
• Maintain operational runbooks, procedures, and technical documentation.

Security & Compliance

• Implement and maintain cloud security controls aligned with organizational policies.
• Manage OCI IAM policies, user access, groups, and federation services.
• Configure security zones, web application firewalls, cloud guard, and vault services.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediate security findings.
• Support compliance requirements such as SOC, GDPR and internal governance standards.

Automation & DevOps

• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using:
• OCI Resource Manager
• Ansible
• Git-based repositories
• Automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, and operational processes.
• Support CI/CD pipeline integration with OCI services.
• Promote DevOps and platform engineering best practices.

Monitoring & Performance Optimization

• Implement proactive monitoring and alerting frameworks.
• Analyse platform trends and capacity requirements.
• Optimize cloud resource consumption and performance.
• Monitor cloud costs and recommend cost optimization opportunities.
• Provide regular health check and operational reports.

Governance & Cloud Financial Management

• Establish OCI governance, standards, and operational policies.
• Monitor cloud consumption and budget adherence.
• Implement tagging, resource organization, and lifecycle management standards.
• Support cloud cost optimization initiatives and FinOps practices.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with enterprise architects, database administrators, application owners, cybersecurity teams, and vendors.
• Provide technical guidance and cloud expertise across project lifecycles.
• Participate in architecture reviews, change management, and technical governance boards.
• Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.

About You

Qualifications & Skills

• 8+ years of Infrastructure or Cloud Engineering experience.
• 5+ years of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) administration and engineering experience.
• Experience managing production enterprise cloud environments.
• Experience implementing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools.
• Experience supporting business-critical applications in 24x7 environments.
• Experience working within ITIL-based service management practices.

• Experience with multi-cloud environments (OCI, Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience supporting large-scale digital transformation programs.
• Experience in regulated enterprise environments.
