We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Power BI developer to join our Business Intelligence (BI) team as a Member of Technical Staff. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining interactive data visualizations and reports using Power BI.
The Team:
The Enterprise Business Intelligence works closely with the Enterprise Data & Analytics team, which builds and manages the corporate data lake, supports custom integrations between business-critical assets, enables stakeholders from all cohorts with insights, and is providing the fuel required to transform athenahealth into a data-driven organization. The BI team transforms analytical data into impactful dashboards and reports that are utilized by business stakeholders across the enterprise.
Job Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and maintain interactive data visualizations and reports using Power BI for enabling data driven decisions.
· Capture business requirements from stakeholders, develop functional and technical requirements documentation
· Develop analysis and reports for stakeholders, including leadership, finance, accounting, product, IT, and operations
· Partner with the Data team to scope, design, and build data assets within the data lake for use in Power BI
· Support the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence efforts focused on enabling self-service analytics by leveraging semantic layer assets to build enterprise-wide reports in Power BI
Typical Qualifications
· Strong Power BI skills to create interactive dashboards (e.g. DAX and Power BI visuals)
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology / Computer Science
· 3 to 5 years of prior experience in a data visualization role
· Strong SQL skills and familiarity with Business Intelligence concepts.
Familiarity with Tableau is a plus but not a requirement
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills for gathering requirements and translating them into user friendly dashboards
· Great stakeholder management skills paired with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for understanding and interpreting datasets and their relationships
· Ability to work independently by managing tasks and priorities across multiple projects efficiently and effectively
