The Business System Analyst- Salesforce CPQ role is a crucial contributor in delivering and supporting business initiatives. The CPQ Business System Analyst’s main focus is the configuration of Salesforce CPQ. They collaborate closely with athenahealth business process owners, athenaIT Product and Project Managers, other Business Systems Analysts, and Development team members. As a member of the athenaIT team, their primary focus is on processes and technologies that support our business partners. They actively participate in the support and expansion of our technologies, continuous improvement, and growth, stability, and security of our systems.
The successful candidate for this role will be an experienced Salesforce CPQ Administrator who has a keen attention to detail. They will have a proven track record of transforming business requirements into system solutions that drive our business forward and provide value to all employees of athenahealth. Responsibilities
Partner with Key Stakeholders: Collaborate with stakeholders and product managers to analyze, understand, and enhance employee productivity and end-user effectiveness, with a strong focus on improving the overall customer experience.
Requirements Gathering: Gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements for new projects, enhancements to existing solutions, and production issues.
System Administration: Design, develop and maintain Salesforce CPQ system solutions involving complex product bundles, price rules, validation rules, approval rules, document templates, etc. in support of new requests and enhancements.
Business Acumen - Demonstrate strong business acumen and possess in-depth knowledge of the Salesforce CPQ domain.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation, including business requirements documents, functional specs, user manuals, and JIRA stories.
System Enhancements: Define and implement system enhancements that align with business goals, advising on best practices and recommending process improvements to ensure scalability and efficiency.
Solution Design: Work with technical teams to design solutions that meet business needs, including system specifications and workflows. Solutions consider both up and downstream impact.
Testing Plans: Develop test cases and conduct unit and integration testing to ensure that systems meet specified requirements and function correctly.
Training Materials: Develop, deliver, and present end-user training materials to Salesforce users throughout the organization.
Issue Resolution: Research production system issues, resolve user problems, and escalate issues when necessary.
Application Configuration: Perform application configuration activities primarily in Salesforce and other supporting Force.com applications.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT, facilitating communications and ensuring alignment on project goals.
Continuous Improvement – Stay updated on industry trends and best practices, recommending improvements to enhance business efficiency.

Typical Qualifications
Salesforce Certifications:
Salesforce Administrator certification required.
Minimum 2 years Salesforce CPQ experience required, Salesforce CPQ Specialist certification preferred.
Business Analysis Experience: 2-4 years of work experience as a business analyst, or related role.
System Administration Skills: Proficiency in Salesforce CPQ system administration, including user management, configuration, and maintenance of Salesforce environments, as well as prior experience working with related systems. Experience with Conga a plus but not required.
Familiarity with Tools: Knowledge of tools including JIRA, Confluence, and SOQL. Experience in creating and executing unit, integration, and user acceptance test plans.
Communication Skills: Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and business stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and investigative skills.
Project Management Experience: Experience working in a mix of agile and waterfall project management methodologies is preferred.
Business Operations Experience (Optional): Familiarity with business operations processes and practices is a plus.
Prior Healthcare Experience (Optional): Experience in the healthcare industry is also considered beneficial.
Expected Compensation
$85,000 - $145,000The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevant knowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles, and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
