Senior Staff Cloud Engineer

Your challenge

• Help us to build a 1st class SaaS cloud platform, easy to maintain, highly scalable, using the latest modern stack and technologies, secured, updated frequently. Also help us deprecate obsolete services to simplify and reduce operation cost
• Define cloud architecture with product development teams on managed cloud services
• Make the impact by working on Team wide Cloud projects or other Cloud Platform cross team initiatives
• Implement the solutions and deploy the Ataccama platform in collaboration with other team members of the Cloud Platform team, using Ataccama deployment automation tools. Implement best practices, remediate issues, find smart and fast solutions to customer-specific situations and challenges
• Identify and evaluate new technologies, practices, and patterns that will benefit Ataccama and our customers
• Collaborate with a number of Ataccama teams: Deployment Engineering, Product Teams, Cloud Ops Platform Teams
• Eventually, lead and develop other less senior team members and coordinate best practices across teams
• Contribute to our codebase at least 30% of your time
• Help us remove toil, increase team productivity by your investments into automation or  newer technologies. Goal is to move faster, remove repetitive tasks, and optimize whenever there is room for it.

• You possess a high level of literacy in cloud and hybrid architecture concepts and services, and tangible hands-on experience in networking, security, authentication, high availability, and other related areas. You stay at the forefront of new and emerging trends and technologies.
• You enjoy explaining complex technical topics and value propositions even to non-technical audiences.
• You are experienced in effectively coordinating and planning multiple projects, executing multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently while working with conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• You love to talk about our platform evolution in public conferences
• Dreams and details capabilities – To see and develop the big-picture, but being also able to break it down to operationalization
• You know the differences between SLA, SLI, SLO; you know how to calculate the composite SLA and you have experience with operating software on an enterprise scale
• You know what CIS framework is and you have experience with implementing it; you have heard about 12factor

Your technical knowledge

• Hands-on experience working in cloud platforms - preferably AWS, CKS/CKA/CKAD certifications is a big plus
• Proven experience in Architecting and delivering large-scale enterprise data management solutions in on-prem as well as cloud/hybrid/multi-cloud/intra-cloud environments, including Security, Networking, Authentication, High Availability
• Hands-on experience with containerization using cloud automation and orchestration tools
• Real experience with Migration of Monolithic Applications into Microservices
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
• Working knowledge in at least one IaC (Infrastructure as Code), preferably Terraform
• Strong practical Linux-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
• Strong skills using REST, JSON
• Knowledge of common networking protocols
• Knowledge of cloud services - compute, storage, networking services
• Working experience with some Relational Databases such as RDS, Aurora, good knowledge of various observability stacks
