The Principal Big Data Software Engineer is responsible for the development of high performance, distributed computing tasks using Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL, text mining and other distributed environment technologies. This role will be part of our iQI Device Intelligent Data & AI team under Enterprise Data Technology Group in Chief Data Office. This is not s supervisory position.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Uses Big Data programming languages and technology, writes code, completes programming and documentation, and performs testing and debugging of applications. Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in distributed, large scale analytics and visualization solutions. Interacts with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded and presented. Works in a highly agile environment.

Qualifications:

• Preferred Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science, Math or Scientific Computing preferred. 

• 8 - 10 years of related experience required.

• IoT and Platform Development and expertise in Java programming for Big Data processing projects required.

• Must have more than 5 years of solid experience writing complex Java EE projects, Spark projects in Scala, and Hadoop projects.

• Expertise in data structures, data transport protocols, tools, and frameworks.

• Hands-on expertise in using Azure services such as Kubernetes, network, and storage to build data ingestion, ETL processing, and data analysis workflows.

• A deep understanding of the DevOps process.

• Must be familiar with the tool chains of software build and deployment pipelines.

• Expertise and more than 3 years of experience in source code version control and software repository management tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, JFrog, and Nexus etc.

• Good knowledge and hands-on expertise in Azure, Databricks, or other cloud-based software development practices.

• Preferably have telecommunications knowledge or background. Must understand major network elements and industry publications of the core network and radio access network.

• Requires Daily Office Presence (3-5 days a week) at the listed location. No relocation assistance is provided.

Our Principal Big Data Software Engineering earns between $158,200.00-$237,400.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
