We are seeking a skilled Lead Software Engineer - Java Backend / Python with a strong background in AI-powered technology stacks to join our team in Alpharetta. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in Java and Python development, specifically with Spring Boot and microservice architecture. Additionally, the candidate should have at least 2 years of experience with AI technologies, including working with large language model (LLM) prompts, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI-powered chatbot/virtual assistants. Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB, as well as technologies like Agenic AI, LangChain/LangGraph/LangSmith, and traditional ML-based AI, is a significant plus.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate to gather and review software requirements/user stories, provide estimates, create software design specifications, and work with engineers/architects to assess and test hardware and software interactions.

• Execute a specific development methodology through the application of various programming languages. Create and execute automated test plans/strategies utilizing business requirements and collaborate with engineers/architects, clients, etc., to validate test environments, test data, and test results. Design and implement code fixes, validate outcomes against expected results, and produce associated reporting. Responsibilities may include dynamic application security testing, interface testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and/or user acceptance testing.

• Support applications and resolve configuration and environment issues. Support the software deployment process.

• Flex between different technology languages and stacks as needed.

Education:

• Preferred Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math. ​

Experience:

• Typically requires 5-8 years of experience in software development, with specific experience in Java and Python, AI technologies, and NoSQL databases.

• AI experience should include at least 2 years working with LLM prompts, RAG, and AI-powered chatbots/virtual assistants.

• Familiarity with Agenic AI, LangChain/LangGraph/LangSmith, and traditional ML-based AI is a plus.

Our Lead Software Engineer, earns between $128,400.00-$192,600.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
