What you'll do
This is a new role in the department and the successful applicant will play a critical role in ensuring successful delivery of a range of clinical scientific innovations that bridge across the drug projects within ECD and other departments to speed the drug development process. They will be key to supporting development of novel clinical endpoints, mapping integration of imaging into trials and supporting new approaches to patient recruitment. The successful person will be bright, and a highly effective communicator, able to build bridges across teams and drive forward new projects independently that include both internal and external stakeholders. They will be accountable for ensuring that the innovation project operates in a way that represents best practice for project management including overall plans, priorities, resource, budget and risk management and will have excellent project management skills and be accountable for delivery of highly visible projects. Responsibilities
Supports the Project Director to build a cohesive, high performing team
Provides input into the project strategy & vision through expertise in project management, execution and governance
Ensures appropriate linkages between project strategy and key internal processes (TA strategy, TA prioritization, corporate scorecard)
Facilitates team towards effective governance decisions (e.g., budget and resourcing proposals) including being responsible for leading development of investment decision documentation
Maintains plans of the highest data quality, accountable for all Project Management deliverables associated with project team(s) or sub-teams covered
Focuses the team on the right activities at the right time directing them to deliver on the project objectives and plans; facilitates projects towards successful issue resolution and decision making
Ensures that overall team deliverables, budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set, governance approved and attained, and that the project effectively fulfils all business reporting requirements
Accountable for development and management of contingency risk plans within each assigned program to ensure delivery to quality, budget and timelines
May lead development of the elements of the project plan or strategy at the direction of the Project Director
Seeks opportunities to drive positive change and remove barriers within and outside the team
Uses business knowledge to drive cross functional and cross-project learning
Skills and Experience
Required
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical drug development subject, or requisite drug development experience
Experience supporting cross-functional drug development teams or leading sub-teams
Project Management experience with successful track record of delivering projects within agreed time, quality and cost
Ability to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global and regional environment
Experience with project management tools and processes
Proven ability in problem solving and issues management that are solution focused
Strong collaborative communication skills including ability to engage with diverse client base including external bodies such as Healthcare Services and academic/research bodies globally
Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders
Strong information management skills including use of modern IM tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and OneNote
