Job Description

Nature and Scope:

  • An experienced Structural Lead Engineer who is good in calculating the structural strength of cable tray support, Pipe supports, and HVAC supports subjected to seismic loads and other working loads in the nuclear power plant structures
  • Experience in writing and verifying calculation notes and hypothesis notes.

 

Job Description:

  • Lead- Support Design Engineer (Cable tray, HVAC and Pipe Support) with minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • As a structural lead engineer, he should have managed teams of 5 to 10 engineers, getting the quality work done from team members.
  • Coordinating with overseas partners for technical input, client expectations, delivering desirable output after completing technical surveillance of activity done by team members.
  • He / She shall have good communication skills.
  • Participating in project meetings, presenting design concepts and contributing to the overall project strategy and decision-making process.
  • Completing the task under budgeted hours with desired quality. Good at estimating man hours required for any new tasks/works.
  • Review & understand inputs from the client (Cable tray, Pipe support and HVAC specifications, design methodology & specifications).
  • Helping/training/mentoring team members to perform load calculations for pipe support under different cases such as Pipe empty, operating, test case, friction load, anchor load along with seismic load.
  • Guiding team members to perform analysis & design of electrical cable tray support, Pipe support and HVAC supports including steel to steel connection & steel to concrete anchor design as per the norms mentioned in the client specification.
  • Able to identify design issues and to provide a practical solution, strengthening measures for modification.
  • Perform counter-calculations of existing support design of electrical cable tray support, pipe supports & HVAC to verify & validate for new loadings & modifications due to a design change or open points.
  • Guide team to produce associated calculation notes to communicate the results effectively to technician / PDMS designer and modifications of the associated calculation reports.
  • Good understanding of Euro codes EC2 & EC3 & RCC-M codes.
  • Working with the designers to implement modifications to 3D models.
  • Remaining updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation and excellence in structural engineering.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

  • Master of Engineering in Civil/Structural engineering.
  • Lead- Support Design Engineer (Cable tray, HVAC and Pipe Support) with minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • As a structural lead engineer, he should have managed teams of 5 to 10 engineers, getting the quality work done from team members.
  • Experience in STADD, SAP etc with seismic analysis is a must.
  • Experience in RSTAB, VerifPlatine, Beam-stress, Navisworks and programming (Excel macro) is desirable.
  • Language: Proficiency in English is must. Knowledge of French is desirable.
