Staff Full Stack Engineer

Assured is on a mission to modernize insurance. Claims processing (i.e. should we pay this claim?), while often overlooked, is the foundation of the entire industry. It’s currently highly manual, involving phone calls, faxes, and gut instinct—costing tens of billions of dollars a year. We can do better.

At Assured, we provide large insurers the software solutions they need to win in a modern, technology-driven world. From self-service claim filing software, to backend fraud detection, we’re the engine that powers claims processing for some of the largest insurers in the world.

You will...

🛠️ Work across the stack to launch and iterate on consequential components of the Assured platform

👩‍💻 Write lots of code: Conceptualize, build, test, and ship new products and features for our customers

🗣️ Understand customer feedback and advocate for product direction

🤝 Lead, mentor, and learn from other engineers on our growing team

🧠 Take new features from idea to mockup to fully fledged product

You have...

📅 Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience preferred

✨ Experience building complex modern web applications

🎨 An eye for thoughtful design–you recognize and care about end user experience

❌ Not required: Specific technology or programming language background. We are relatively technology-background agnostic. We believe great engineers are great engineers, and that the technologies we use will continue to evolve with team and challenges we face. In Assured’s codebase today, you’ll find: Node.js (Typescript), Python, Docker, PostgreSQL; React (Typescript) on the front end

In your first month at Assured, you may...

🚗 Design, implement, test, and launch a new integrated “vehicle picker” allowing users to easily search and select vehicles involved in the incident, incorporating both excellent frontend UX as well as a backend service to query hundreds of thousands of potential vehicle configurations

🧮 Discover a new factor that is correlated with end user conversion rates, build new experiments to influence it, and run an A/B test to determine a new product direction

🔌 Implement a new integration with one of our customer’s core system of record to synchronize new claim files from Assured with their existing records
