Introduction
The Metrology department at ASML develop algorithms that drive most of the parts within lithography scanners to achieve performance. Those algorithms use parameters that are set by calibration software during machine setup and by inline actions during production. These algorithms are tested on a simulator before they are deployed to run real hardware. As a trainee you are part of the Metrology Expose EUV department. You will work within a SAFe Agile team under the guidance of a mentor. An agile team at ASML is responsible for investigating, designing, and implementing software. Before delivery an automated pipeline is executed, which tests this software. The goal of this project is to identify the most common failures of production machines by analyzing field data (proto and/or machines in factory) and come up with an automated way of reproducing them locally (in simulator environment).
The investigation should be based in the principle of combinatorial testing.
Your Assignment
The assignment is divided in the following stages:
1. Get data from Proto/Factory
2. Identify repeatable failures and failure patterns
3. Identify machine parameters to be able to automatically reproduce the failures
4. Automate test vector that will be part of regression/progression testing
Your tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Familiarize yourself with existing ASML Metrology tooling (simulator, diagnostic data and data policies, ...)
Design, implement and validate your proposal using simulator
Document your work for knowledge transfer.
Your profile
To be a match for this internship, you:
Are a MSc student with a background in Software engineering, Computer Science or related.
Preferably know how to use a Linux terminal and commands. You have experience with C, C++, Python, and shell scripting.
Have good analytical skills.
Enjoy working on multi-disciplinary projects which require you to pick up some physics and/or mechanical engineering knowledge.
Have good communication skills to get the information you need from others.
This is a master apprentice or graduation internship for 6 to months, for 4 to 5 days per week (at least 3 days onsite). The start date of this internship is as soon as possible.
Other requirements you need to meet
You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;
You are located in the Netherlands to perform your internship. In case you are currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate;
If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
