Our team has developed a suite of in-house applications using VBA Excel, which are currently used by thousands of colleagues across various sectors. The project's objective is to transition these applications to a web-based platform, enabling us to scale our offerings, provide users with easier and more secure access, and offer enhanced features, improved performance, and increased maintenance efficiency.

Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Full Stack Angular Web App Platform Developer to join our team.

As a key team member, you will play a crucial role in getting started with and overseeing the entire development process. Translating our strategy into products that meet our customers' needs. Your broad and in-depth expertise will influence the technology architecture, development, and integration of our platform.

You will work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, stepping out of your comfort zone when necessary to respond promptly to changes in the environment. You will deliver value in an Agile manner, leveraging your hands-on approach, proactive mindset, organizational skills, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality results.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up the new cloud develop environment and to lead the design and development of our web platform using Angular. As the cloud expert of our technology team, you will be responsible for defining the technical architecture, guiding the development team, and ensuring the platform meets the requirements of our business stakeholders.
  • Design and develop the full-stack web application, with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
  • Develop and maintain reusable and modular code that follows best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements and ensure that the full-stack development aligns with the overall project goals.
  • Develop and maintain technical specifications, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate the capabilities of the full-stack application.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure that the code meets high standards of quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices.

Context of the position

You are based in Veldhoven (Netherlands) being part of the PMO - Means & Methods - Process & Tooling team.

In your function you work closely together with backend developers, cloud and database engineers, product owners, requirements analysts, software testers, as well as with the IT department (e.g. Cloud services, security).

Education

  • Bachelor and/or master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Experience / skills

  • > 7 years of experience in full-stack development.
  • Strong understanding of Angular architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular CLI.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java and C#, including their respective frameworks and ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of web performance optimization, security, and accessibility.
  • Experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous integration.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as GitLab and SVN, and Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with SQL (MySQL, Hana) and NoSQL database (MongoDB) is a plus.
  • Experience with design systems, component libraries, and reusable code.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of containerization, such as Docker, and orchestration, such as Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Prior experience with VBA is a nice to have.
