Internship - Full Stack Software Engineer

Job Mission

Works in Brion HPC team. Interfaces with HPC team. Has basic knowledge of programming and cloud computing. Within the HPC (High Performance Computing) Platform group, we create cloud computing infrastructure for the development, testing, and deployment of HPC applications to our customers. These applications are used by our customers for the production of semiconductor chips. This internship will work in the HPC Platform group towards our current focus and vision of optimizing our internal computing workloads. This optimization is in terms of efficiently using the right sized resources for the given workloads. This intern position is a for a full stack web developer position that will create a new Model-view-controller (MVC) application to be used internally that gathers and stores an inventory of deployed cloud computing resources that can be queried to highlight overprovisioned and underutilized resources.

Job Description

Application projects: supporting customers to enable their node performance requirements, to adopt ASML technology to its full capability and to maximize the lithography output in terms of WPD and performance.
New product introduction: helps rolling out and implementing product deliveries.
Sustaining support: analyses and resolves customer on-product application issues and or escalations.

• Analyze, organize, quantify, and report the utilization of provisioned cloud computing resources, and highlight the overprovisioned resources and underutilized resources.
• Query and store cloud deployed computing resources from our cloud provider.
• Query and store utilization metrics of the deployed resources in terms of CPU primary, secondary, and tertiary storage.
• Create an interface to query, classify and present the resources and their utilization.
• Work as a part of an agile development team.

Education and Experience

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or other STEM field with prior demonstrated experience creating full stack web applications.
• Programming experience with one or more object oriented programming languages.
• Knowledge and experience with web presentation layer to include HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Knowledge and experience with a database from the creation of a schema, indexing of the schema, and querying against the schema.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Prior background in research environments is a plus.

• This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA.  It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.

• Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

• Must be willing to work in a clean room environment, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses and gloves for entire duration of shift.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently $17.00  -  $53.00. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
