As an Electronics Integrator and design engineer for Image Sensors & Light Sources, you working day to day with a multi-disciplinary team of architects, designers and integrators, from electronics (Firmware and Hardware), physics, software and mechanics disciplines. You will be responsible for designing and testing of the electrical parts of our Image sensors and, spending your time in the lab performing actual tests and troubleshooting, but also in the office preparing test specifications, reports and helping with work breakdown and effort estimations. Role and responsibilities
In your role, at the high-level you are responsible for the electronics testing and integration of optical sensor modules and sub-systems. In details, this means:
- Specify and document the test requirements to ensure that the module or sub-system meets requirements;
- Execute the tests as you defined, both in our electronics labs (test set-ups) as well as in full prototype machines in our factory;
- Design and document the tools (i.e. test set-ups) needed for both design qualification and module production qualification;
- Get clear design requirements by aligning with stakeholders both within your project as well as from projects that your design interfaces with;
- Design, document and maintain electrical modules and electrical infrastructure, ensuring quality (safety, EMC, serviceability, manufacturability, etc) and compliance to international standards;
- Create and maintain electrical technical drawings/schematics (functional overviews, high level block diagrams, detailed wiring diagrams, cable overviews, etc)
- Make work breakdown and effort estimation for your integration tasks;
- Help solve problems and issues during NPI machine integration;
- Help solve issues pertaining to the optical Image sensors in our machine fleet.
You will work on a multi-disciplinary team of integrators, operating as the Electronics Development department representative (responsible for the electronics know-how and electronics input in solving issues). You will use your integration knowledge to influence the design of new modules to improve diagnostics, testability, manufacturability and reliability
Education and Experience
Bachelor or Master degree or higher in Electronics or Electrical engineering, with 3 or more years of work experience with the following topics:
- Hands-on laboratory experience with testing and/or integration of electronic/electrical modules. You are comfortable in using test- and measurement equipment.
- Technical knowledge of electronics with basic knowledge of physics, mechanics, mechatronics and software.
- Experience in making small electronic circuits (even as hobby) for testing purposes.
- Troubleshooting experience.
Additionally, further experience on the topics below will be considered a plus:
- Knowledge and experience with optical Image sensors.
- Python coding for automating tests.
- Environmental (shock, vibration, temperature) and EMC testing.
- Experience in board design,
- Experience with compliance to international electrical standards (NFPA, SEMI) is a plus.

This role is situated within the sector Development & Engineering (D&E) of ASML, which is responsible for the specification, design and realization of the products in the ASML portfolio. Within the sector D&E, the department Electronics Development (EL) is responsible for the definition, realization, qualification and integration of electronic functions and modules.
