We are seeking a passionate Cloud Data Engineer for our one of our Cloud Data Platform teams. As a key member of the Ascendis Pharma team, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting the data product vision and strategy, engaging users on requirements. You will prioritize to ensure alignment with the data transformation journey. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate with cross-functional, global teams working together to achieve extraordinary results.

In this position, you will collaborate closely with other Data Platform colleagues, business partners and other IT or business stakeholders throughout the company to offer technical guidance on the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of our Azure Data Platform products and services.

You will be based in our Headquarters in Hellerup and report directly to Lene Rhein Larsen, Director, People Leadership who is also based in Hellerup.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• Design, implement, and manage data solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Create and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
• Develop and manage data storage solutions such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake Storage,
• Ensure data integration and that processes are efficient and dependable.
• Monitor and optimize data storage and data processing tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.

Qualifications and Skills:

You hold a relevant academic degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent. Moreover, you have +5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferable with Azure.

Furthermore, you have:

• Proficiency and hands-on experience in python and SQL.
• You have experience with designing and delivering data solutions, data load patterns and with data platform architecture.
• Ideally you are well versed with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and Pharma domain knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with data integration tools like Azure Data Factory.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• You are proficient in English at a professional level, both written and spoken.

The preferred candidate has:

• Deep knowledge about business processes in areas: Product Supply, Finance, HR, and Quality 
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate certification.
• Experience with data analytics.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI
• Application knowledge: D365, Workday or similar business applications
