Join us as a Technical Test Manager in our Singapore office!

We’re on the lookout for a skilled and tech-savvy Test Manager who can lead and enhance our quality engineering efforts throughout our software delivery system. As a Technical Test Manager, you manage Ascenda engineering’s complete testing strategy to ensure that our platforms, especially those that are high-traffic and crucial, perform reliably and scale effectively.

You’ll be key in defining test architectures, pushing for large-scale automation, and promoting a culture that prioritizes quality among our engineering teams. With your extensive knowledge of current testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and non-functional testing—like performance, security, and accessibility. You’ll help us create solid and efficient quality processes.

Your impact

We’re looking for a highly experienced test manager who can lead initiatives, drive testing and quality improvements at scale, and partner with engineering teams to embed testing and quality into every layer of our tech stack, through our engineering, testing, delivery and release processes. This is a people management role and will oversee a small team of 3-4 quality engineers. 
As a key member of the Quality team at Ascenda, you will:


Leadership & Strategy
  • Drive the quality vision, strategy, and best practices across engineering teams. 
  • Foster a quality-first culture by integrating testing into the development lifecycle. 
  • Align testing efforts with business objectives and product goals.

Test Automation & Innovation
  • Oversee the implementation of test automation adoption 
  • Drive continuous testing in CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Leverage testing practices and strategy for efficiency and scalability.

Team Management & Development
  • Lead a team of QEs
  • Ensure daily collaboration with Dev, Product, and QE team to align on quality gates
  • Coordinate across tech teams
  • Oversee defect triaging, RFCs and continuous quality improvement

Process Improvement & Governance
  • Define and enforce testing standards, risk management, and compliance Implement Shift Left Testing, ensuring early defect detection in the SDLC. Monitor and improve key quality metrics

Cross-Team Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, DevOps, and Business Leaders
  • Communicate testing progress, risks, and insights effectively to leadership. Advocate for data-driven decision-making in quality assurance.


What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in a lead role with knowledge in using a mix of quality strategies, knowing when to apply them. Especially in API, backend and data validation testing 
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, RestAssured, Postman) 
  • Expertise in scripting and programming languages such as Typescript, Ruby, Python, and Java
  • Solid understanding of data integration concepts, ETL processes, and data transformation workflows. (a plus)
  • Strong understanding of authentication protocols, security best practices, and encryption technologies. (a plus)
  • Strong collaboration and an excellent communicator to manage stakeholders and input requirements into test practices 
  • Experience with CI/CD, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern DevOps practices.
  • Prior experience with leading a small team or mentoring younger engineers will be a plus 
  • Familiarity with loyalty mechanics: rewards, points, tiers, partner systems is a plus
