Software Engineer

What you’ll be doing

• Work and collaborate with teams across multiple time zones (AEST, IST, PST)
• Help build software that spans from the browser all the way down to analytics data pipelines
• Work within an agile team to help build services from requirements to release and maintenance
• Attending planning meetings to produce high-level scenarios and estimates
• Attending and contributing to regular status meetings
• Learn from other highly experienced Engineers

What we want from you

Need to have

• Relevant tertiary degree (e.g. COMP SCI, Software Engineering) or related commercial experience (e.g. using modern programming languages - Node.js/JavaScript, Golang, etc.)
• Experience with cloud computing (AWS services)
• Experience designing & integrating REST API.
• Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Working knowledge of DOM API & manipulation
• Working knowledge of web/HTTP concepts and methodologies - DNS, TLS, browser caching, CDNs (e.g. Cloudflare/CloudFront)
• Working knowledge of concurrent/asynchronous programming techniques
• Working knowledge of distributed systems/computing (especially microservices)
• A desire to focus on open source, linux-based software/services and tooling

Nice to have

• Understanding of UX Principles
