Department: Data Analysis and Technology Services

Location: Reston, VA

REQUIRED: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
LOCATION: Full-time, onsite in Reston, VA

We are seeking a Cloud Developer with strong Python skills and hands‑on experience building, deploying, and maintaining cloud‑native solutions on AWS. This role focuses on developing geospatial data capabilities, automating cloud workflows, and managing scalable compute resources across a secure, modern cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this challenging yet rewarding role as a Cloud Developer, you are an integral part of what brings our Company's mission to life. You must have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with:
  • Using Python.
  • Geo-spatial software and programming packages and data formats.
  • Creating and managing AWS resources, including provisioning EC2 instances, writing and deploying Lambda functions, creating and writing to S3, and managing authorization appropriately across resources with IAM policies.
  • Using GitHub.

Highly Desired Qualifications

Other skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not mandatory to perform the work, include:
  • Deploying AWS applications with AWS’s Cloud Development Kit (CDK). Ansible and Terraform are NOT a substitute for CDK.
  • Building and deploying containerized applications.
  • Building, programmatically working with and maintaining search engines such as ElasticSeach, Lucene, or AWS’s OpenSearch.
  • Creating, programmatically working with and maintaining SQL and NO-SQL databases.
  • Other non-AWS cloud services such as, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure.
Certification(s)
AWS DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or SysOps Administrator
