What you’ll do:
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for primary and secondary airframe structures, focusing on composite layups, bonding, trimming, and any required metallic sub-assemblies.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and analysis teams to embed manufacturability and certification requirements into early airframe concepts, addressing potential assembly challenges before they escalate.
- Create and maintain tooling solutions, fixtures, and assembly aids tailored for prototype builds, ensuring precise alignment and repeatable outcomes without overcomplicating the process for low-volume production.
- Troubleshoot real-time build issues on the shop floor, driving root-cause analysis and implementing immediate, cost-effective solutions to keep schedules on track.
- Coordinate with supply chain partners and certification authorities (FAA/EASA) to confirm material specs, ensure regulatory compliance, and support test and inspection milestones for the airframe.
- Provide mentorship to junior manufacturing engineers and technicians, fostering a hands-on, problem-solving culture that prioritizes safety, quality, and speed of iteration.
What you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in aerospace manufacturing, with a proven track record in airframe assembly and composite structure builds; EVTOL or experimental aircraft work is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in CAD (e.g., CATIA, NX) and familiarity with digital manufacturing systems (PLM/MES); comfortable adapting to evolving prototype requirements.
- Solid understanding of DFM principles for composite structures, including layup sequences, bonding techniques, and cure processes.
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to thrive in a rapid-iteration environment, and a bias toward action when solving complex, hands-on problems.

We drive a pay-for-performance culture and reward performance that supports the Company’s business strategy. For this position we are targeting a base pay between $102,400 - $128,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
