Role description:

The AI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting AI-powered solutions that improve business processes, employee experiences, and operational efficiency across Arcadis.
The AI Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting AI-powered solutions that improve business processes, employee experiences, and operational efficiency across Arcadis.

Working as part of a global technology team, this role will help build and enhance AI agents, copilots, automations, and integrations using technologies such as Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Model Context Protocol (MCP), custom connectors, Power Platform, and Azure cloud services.

This position is ideal for a developer who is passionate about emerging AI technologies and enjoys combining software development, automation, integration, and problem-solving to deliver practical business solutions.​

Role accountabilities:

• Develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications, copilots, agents, and automation solutions.
• Build solutions using Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, and Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
• Develop integrations between AI solutions and enterprise systems through APIs, MCP tools, custom connectors, and other integration technologies.
• Assist in creating reusable components, templates, and development patterns that support scalable solution delivery.
• Support the implementation of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, document ingestion, and knowledge search capabilities.
• Support proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives to evaluate emerging AI technologies and capabilities.
• Participate in Agile delivery processes, including sprint planning, development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Document solutions, integrations, and technical processes to support ongoing operations and future development.
• Follow established security, privacy, and compliance standards in the design and delivery of AI solutions.
• Support implementation of Responsible AI practices, including content safety, transparency, and governance requirements.
• Work with cybersecurity and platform teams to ensure secure access to enterprise data and services.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in software development, automation, application development, or related technical roles.
• Experience developing solutions using at least one modern programming language such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience building integrations using APIs, web services, or cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and modern development practices.

• Understanding of AI, machine learning, generative AI, or intelligent automation concepts.

  Experience working within Agile development teams.

• Experience with Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, Microsoft Power Platform, or similar AI platforms - nice to have 
• Experience developing MCP tools, custom connectors, plugins, or API-based integrations - nice to have
