At Citadel, Jon held numerous senior positions over the years, including head of Statistical Arbitrage and Equity High Frequency, culminating in leading the highly successful Global Quantitative Strategies business.

At Aquatic, we are actively recruiting for a Software Engineer experienced in working with operations and software engineers to enable visibility into the realtime state of our accounts as well as handle general post-trade work such as trade reconciliation. A good candidate is comfortable with developing across multiple layers, from UI to back-end, and enjoys working actively with others to produce easy-to-maintain and robust code.

Role Details

  • Experienced with real-time sequenced trade management systems. 
  • Knowledge of message structures, with an emphasis on performance and reliability.
  • Strong Python skills or preferred language for a high performance event processor.
  • Able to review Python code and provide performance, reliability, and stylistic improvements in the PR process.
  • Experienced with low latency C++ order management systems. 
  • Extensive experience with event processing models.
  • Able to design and implement systems operating globally as a single environment.
  • Familiar with complex graph structures for data and how to implement them architecturally.

Technical Experience: 

  • At least 5+ years of full-time professional software development experience with team and platform responsibilities.
  • There will be a focus on performant event processing in this role. 
  • Expertise with Python, familiar with C++.
  • Experience with messaging architectures such as Kafka, Aeron, and reliable multicast.
  • A history of building software effectively, using automated tests.
  • Experience in finance, especially back office, is beneficial but not required.

The base salary for this role is anticipated to be between $150,000 and $300,000, which is based on information at the time of posting. This position may also be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as a discretionary bonus, and benefits. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their unique skills, qualifications and relevant experience.
