Our Team

EIT (Engineering IT) is part of GIS (Global Information Systems), the backbone to deliver digital solutions which drive valuable business processes transformation, primarily for the engineering business groups (internal customers) and other parts of the of Applied Materials.  Digital Solutions include hardware, software and business process development and deployment.

The key enterprise business process areas where EIT focuses are – Product Life Cycle (PLC), Product Life Cycle management (PLM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), Systems Engineering, New Production Introduction (NPI) and Commercialization, and DevOps in various Engineering domains such as mechanical, electrical, electronics, software product disciplines to support the Applied Materials engineering community.

Your Opportunity

As a Director, Engineering IT Operations, your primary focus will be on managing customer engagement and ensuring their success. You will play a vital role in driving the adoption and utilization of various Engineering IT applications and ensuring its smooth operation to help engineering teams to improve their productivity, speed and quality of delivery.

Roles and Responsibility

  • Understanding the customer: This involves conducting continuous research to understand the customer's needs, preferences, and behaviors. This understanding can then be used to shape the business's solution offerings, strategic roadmap and development, and operations strategies.
  • Soliciting and acting on customer feedback: This involves regularly gathering feedback from customers and using this feedback to improve the product and the overall customer experience. This can involve conducting customer surveys, monitoring social media, and analyzing customer service interactions.
  • Customer Engagement Management: Serve as the main point of contact for customer day to day operations, building strong relationships and understanding the customer needs and requirements.  Conduct regular meetings with customers to provide updates, gather feedback, and address any concerns or issues.
  • Engineering Operations:  Oversee the day-to-day operations of Engineering IT, ensuring its availability, stability, and performance.  Define KPI/score card for operations, conduct periodic reviews, monitor system performance, analyze trends, and proactively address any potential issues or bottlenecks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help address customer high value problems
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in CAD/PLM technology.        Conduct regular assessments of CAD/Teamcenter PLM operations and identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement. Collaborate with vendors, partners, and internal stakeholders to evaluate and implement new features, upgrades, and integrations.
  • User Support and Training:  Minimal supervision of end-user support and training needs for various engineering applications, ensuring users are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to maximize their potential.  Develop and deliver training materials, documentation, and guides for CAD/Teamcenter PLM users.                 Conduct regular user feedback sessions to identify areas for improvement and enhancement.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experienced leader with proven experience in customer engagement, business transformation and defining new business processes.
  • Proven experience in IT operations management, preferably in CAD and PLM software (Teamcenter PLM experience is highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of CAD, PLM, EDA and Engineering Simulation concepts, processes, IT tools and best practices.
  • Excellent customer engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Big picture thinking.
  • Develop strong stakeholder relations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of science in any engineering discipline, computer science, Information Technology or a related field
  • 5-10 years of industrial experience
  • 5-10 years of leadership roles related experience
  • Project management skills

Additional Qualifications:

  • Change management experience.  Certifications like CM2 or Prosci nice to have.
