Senior Machine Learning Engineer

Apella is applying computer vision, machine learning and NLP to improve the standard of care in the most critical aspect of healthcare; surgery. We build applications to enable surgeons, nurses, and hospital administrators to deliver the highest quality care. We are looking for an experienced machine learning engineer to join our team and work as a generalist across a number of optimization problems. We need brave people who are not afraid to jump in and work on unfamiliar systems and improve them. Our machine learning engineers work with product managers and the annotation team to help specify our optimization problems based on product needs of our customers.

You are a machine learning generalist who enjoys dealing with the important parts of the problem, namely getting the right data into the right place to build effective models. You are a team player who can work closely with software engineers on product and infrastructure to take loose specifications and create delightful product experiences. As an early member of the team, you will have the opportunity to set the culture of our machine learning team.
