Product Engineers at Anterior come from all backgrounds and are typically engineers with a strong “sense of product” through their desire and ability to solve problems close to the customer.

We collaborate closely with our clients in a multidisciplinary team to create robust, secure, and scalable applications. Our approach is guided by OWASP principles, emphasizing DRY code, modular and extensive architectures, and the use of pragmatic algorithms to execute business logic effectively. Attention to detail is paramount in our coding practices, whether it's developing OOP Classes, REST APIs, web dashboards, or infrastructure components. Our applications prioritize user experience, ensuring they are intuitive and engaging to use.

The Role

As a Senior Product Engineer, you carry a high level of experience and competency that allows you to effectively work on end-to-end features, whilst managing your own stakeholders, time and deadlines. You demonstrate outstanding technical competency whilst inspiring other members of the team, acting as a good mentor and exercising a continuous coaching and learning culture within the team.

Desired Experience

You are not expected to be a master at everything, so don’t anticipate fulfilling all the requirements mentioned on this page. Instead, concentrate on your strengths and core abilities:

• You have developed deep empathy for users, working directly with product managers and end user feedback and testing towards an iterative product development cycle;

• You have built full-stack projects that have been used at scale, contributing significantly to high throughput projects with more than 10K active users or $30M revenue.

• You have designed, maintained, and monitored infrastructure at scale, constructing state-of-the-art backend services including message queues.

• You have led and delivered projects with multiple contributors as part of a multidisciplinary team, utilizing agile principles and frameworks.

• You have experience in systems design using our core technology stack (Next.js, Tailwind, Python Django, AWS, Postgres), as well as overseeing large application migrations.

• You are experienced in environments requiring self-direction and adaptability, such as early-stage startups and greenfield projects.

• You exhibit a solid grasp of software architecture, contributing to product requirements documents or application-level systems thinking and planning;

• You possess deep knowledge and understanding of software engineering best practices, supported by either a robust academic background in the field or extensive experience as a senior contributor within a team.

Selection Process

We like to move fast and get to a decision ASAP. The cycle from screening call to decision shouldn’t take longer than 2 weeks.

Our candidate assessment process is made up of 5 steps:

1. Screening call: A quick 20m screening call with a recruiter or member of our team to assess your profile and experience against our requirements

2. Technical test: You'll be given a take-home task to showcase your full-stack skills in addressing a specific problem that reflects the tasks you'll handle at Anterior.

3. In-person technical interview: You'll have the chance to present your take-home assignment and engage in a technical discussion with a member of the Anterior engineering team. This phase might also involve a peer-programming exercise related to your take-home assignment.

4. In-person cultural interview: You'll have the opportunity to converse with members of the Anterior team, and help evaluate if you're someone we'd like to welcome aboard and if you also perceive us as a team you'd like to be part of.

5. Final-stage interview: A concluding interview with either the hiring manager or engineering lead will precede our decision-making process.
