This is a hybrid role based out of one of our offices located in Loveland, Colorado
The Target Pay Range for this position is $88,200 - $120,000 annually. At Antech, pay decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, education, training and
budget.
Job Purpose/ Overview
The employee will develop and maintain Java code for Veterinary Telemedicine, building web and API applications to be used by animal hospitals and doctors worldwide. This is a full-time position as an on-site programmer, working in both individual and team programming environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop technical specifications, enhancements, and new applications according to project needs.
- Create and maintain software documentation
- Plan, coordinate, and execute project activities to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare automated unit test cases, conduct functional unit testing, and support integration testing.
- Perform code reviews to identify basic technical and logical errors.
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
- Provide high level of customer service and partner with end-users in the resolution of problems or in deployment of new applications.
- Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities.
- May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
- May be required to assist in out of hours support activities from time to time

Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, from a 4 year college required and/or equivalent 4+ years related experience preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- 4+ years of experience developing in Java, with understanding of JEE applications
- Experience working collaboratively with 2nd/3rd level support towards customer issue resolution a plus
- Experience with Spring Framework, particularly: MVC, REST, Data, and Security modules
- Ability to use Maven build tools, repositories, and plugins
- Experience with source control management using Git
- Best practices in writing unit tests and integration tests with Junit
- Code documentation skills, including Javadoc, inline comments, and external guide documents
- Familiarity with SQL, especially with Oracle dialect, ORM, and JDBC
- Understanding of RESTful web services
- HTML authoring skills, including JavaScript and CSS
- Proficiency with Linux environment and using Unix commands
- Familiar with the following technologies is preferred: Eclipse, Assemble, Jenkins, AJAX, Thymeleaf, Angular, and programming with mobile devices.
- Familiarity with DICOM strongly preferred, experience with DCMTK/DCMJP2K helpful
- Ability to leverage technology background and understanding of latest technologies to apply to development work.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Strong time management skills in an unsupervised environment, and self-discipline.
- Ability to estimate project timelines and to negotiate and meet deadlines accordingly.
- Ability to understand the customer’s business processes and work as a business partner.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, analytical skills and utilization of research-based solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to translate technical subject matter to non-technical audiences (both as a speaker and listener).

Physical Demands:
- Extensive sitting, phone, and computer use
- Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers
- Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch
- May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 15 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Hearing ability to effectively communicate via the telephone and in person
- Ability to communicate verbally on the telephone and in person
- Fluency in the English language
- Extended hours may be needed
Working Conditions:
The employee will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, and the Internet. The employee is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system.
