Description:
ANELLO is seeking a detailed oriented and hands-on candidate who will take pride in driving new product development through prototype into production at scale. The successful candidate would work closely with R&D and Engineering teams to develop assembly and test processes used during the manufacturing of electromechanical components and subassemblies of IMU/INS navigation systems. We are a ~30 person company currently shipping product and planning for increase in production. This role could involve a wide range of hands-on tasks associated with improving our onsite production, while leading our shift of production to contract manufacturers. In this role you will contribute to all aspects of assembly and test development, coverage, drive execution and document results. You will design and document manufacturing test hw and fixtures applying both custom and off-the shelf hardware and software.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support cross-functional team of engineers (ee, me, fw, optical) in the development of new products and drive design for manufacturing excellence.
- Participate on a project team of engineers involved in the specification, design, development, assembly and test of product hardware.
- Provide manufacturing input to mechanical design reviews. Design for DFx : DFC, DFQ, DFM, DFR, DFT.
- Perform new product and sustaining engineering functions.
- Provide training/mentorship to contract manufacturing (CM) personnel. Ensure that Manufacturing receives the required level of product training.
- Improve manufacturing operations processes and actively enhance efficiency, consistency, cost avoidance, and customer satisfaction.
- Approve and validate mechanical first articles.
- Assist in early prototype testing and troubleshooting/debug to find root cause failures and drive back fixes to engineering or contract manufacturer.
- Work in conformance with established manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Perform value engineering and cost reduction activities.
- Develop manufacturing process and best practice documentation.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related).
- 5-7 years of experience in Manufacturing Product, Process, or NPI Engineering in manufacturing environment.
- Produce high quality documentation that is clearly understandable by internal and external personnel
- Prior hands-on experience with assembly and test equipment and associated fixture design
- Strong understanding and experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
- Able to work independently and as a strong team player being detail-oriented, organized, and hands-on.
