Duties:                        

Develop a detailed evaluation and characterization plan for high performance IC devices. Attend design reviews and read design documentation. Collaborate with analog, digital, firmware, test, and applications engineers to guide a product from design to release using tools such as version control systems and issue trackers. Write lab scripts for testing high performance IC devices prior to silicon arrival. Evaluate and characterize high performance IC devices in the lab using bench test equipment. Understand bench characterization measurements and prepare reports for design engineering approval of silicon performance. Provide lab testing support for any customer issues on high performance IC devices. Perform lab analysis and evaluation of new silicon, working with multi-functional team to identify, simulate, and correct functional and parametric problems. Design methodologies for new evaluation tasks and execute them using bench equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators. Create automated software programs for product/IC evaluation using high level programming languages. Collect data for established evaluation items or follow suggested methodologies from design engineers or senior product engineers. Revise existing evaluation hardware as required for specific tests and experiments; and perform statistical analysis to evaluate product performance. Partial telecommute benefit (2 days WFH).

Requirements:                 

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related field (willing to accept a foreign education equivalent) and 3 years of experience as a product engineer or related occupation working with Radio Frequency circuitry and testing of wireless platform solutions.

Special Skills:       

Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section):
• Demonstrated Expertise (DE) developing automated software verification test benches utilizing LabVIEW and TestStand for efficient testing of wideband transceiver ICs;
• DE conducting and analyzing various RF performance tests like Adjacent channel leakage ratio, Noise Figure and Intermodulation products;
• DE conducting verification and testing using version control systems and issue trackers in support of initial silicon stages to full-scale production of the product lifecycle;
• DE documenting and reporting characterization data utilizing Excel, Power BI, and MySQL data analysis tools; and
• DE designing methodologies for new evaluation tasks, revising existing evaluation hardware, and executing evaluation tasks using bench equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators.
