Job Description: RF Staff Field Applications Engineer
Role Definition
We are looking for an enthusiast and dynamic RF Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to support our accounts in EMEA. As a Field Applications Engineer, you are the bridge between product development groups and top RF customers in EMEA. Your primary goal is winning new business through proactive in-depth design and development support that will solve customer challenges.
In this role you will be responsible for providing ADI’s customers with field applications support for RF and High-Speed Converter technologies with a strong focus on next generation Mixed-Signal Front Ends (MxFE) products. You will impact customer solutions with technology proposals from the early architecture phase via design and evaluation to mass production phase. Together with the customer’s engineering teams you will work on cutting edge RF and Mixed-Signal applications for key end-markets including instrumentation and quantum computing domains.
The RF FAE must be able to identify customer platform requirements (hardware and software) and work closely internally with Analog Devices Business Units. You will impact ADI’s RF and High-Speed Converter product roadmaps and contribute to new product definitions together with ADI’s System Engineering. You will take ownership for driving the resolution of all technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the design in sales process.
The RF FAE must be able to build trust, establish and maintain strong relationships with customers as well as ADI internal Business Units. You would need to invest in your product and system level knowledge on an ongoing basis through the various training and development opportunities.
Your tasks
Develop and maintain expert knowledge level for a wide range of RF and Mixed-Signal systems across various end-market application domains.
Support customers with a design of complex high-performance solutions integrating broad product portfolio of Analog Devices
Establish and maintain customer relationships, organize on-site visits to provide customer service and sales support
Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFQs
Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements identifying customer's needs and translating them into specifications and/or design ideas for the ADI’s Business Units
Perform customer’s schematic and layout review in collaboration with the Business Units
Support customers with detailed walk through of ADI’s products features and guidance on how these features can be used in specific applications
Provide product and board bring up trainings to customers
Prepare and demonstrate tested use cases
Support customers in a lab with troubleshooting and design-in process
Generate high-quality documentation such as technical presentations or meeting notes
Qualifications and Skills required
BSc/BEng/MSc in RF and Microwave Engineering or Mixed-Signal Design (or equivalent)
Profound knowledge in RF signal chain and Mixed-Signal design
Strong theoretical background on RF analog signal chains, high-speed converter technologies, digital interfaces, and hands on experience in designing RF and mixed-signal solutions
Work experience >10 years in engineering with semiconductor and/or RF industries
Profound understanding of high-frequency and high-speed signal chain architectures
Very good knowledge of embedded systems and digital signal processing
Good understanding of software design and its application
Experience in using Python and Matlab
Excellent problem-solving skills
Curious nature and willingness to challenge the status Quo
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills as need to collaborate with global teams
Languages: English (min. C1), German (min. B1)
Available for travel 50% of working time
Driving license required
