Product System Evaluation Engineer

Analog Devices' Cloud and Data Center Equipment Business Unit is seeking a motivated and experienced Application Engineer / System Evaluation to join our Power System Management Solutions team based in Shanghai, China.

This role offers the opportunity to work on industry-leading power system management solutions for hyperscale cloud and AI infrastructure customers. The position requires expertise in power electronics, embedded systems and firmware, as well as system-level evaluation and validation of power management solutions. The Application Engineer / System Evaluation will play a key role in evaluating and characterizing new silicon products, developing and validating system-level power solutions, designing PCB layouts, supporting customers throughout the product development lifecycle, and creating high-quality technical documentation.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with a strong foundation in analog and power management systems, solid experience in PCB design and layout, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for collaborating with both internal development teams and external customers. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, system-level understanding, and attention to detail to help drive the successful development and adoption of ADI's power system management solutions.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Silicon bench evaluation
• PCB design and layout for evaluation boards
• Design and test evaluation boards with focus on layout optimization
• Generate reference design reports for customers
• Review customers' PCB layouts and provide design recommendations
• Technical writing of datasheet and application notes
• Thermal and electrical characterization
• Simulations and lab automation

Minimum qualifications:
• BSEE with 2+ years of experience, or MSEE
• Fundamentals on power electronics
• Strong PCB design and layout skills
• Experience with PCB design tools (Allegro, or similar)
• Experience with lab equipment
• Coding experience in Python or similar scripting languages

Preferred qualifications:
• MSEE with 3+ years of experience in hardware design
• Experience with high-speed and high-power PCB design
• Solid understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design
• Experience with hardware debug/troubleshooting
• Excellent presentation and technical writing skills
• Simulation tools Simplis or LTSpice or LabVIEW
• Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB or similar scripting languages
• Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin
• Experience with communication protocols (I2C, SPI, PMBus)
