The Group:

The Custom Silicon & Consumer Solutions Group at ADI is expanding its activities and engagements, growing its battery power solutions to further complement its existing mixed-signal products, using 90nm and lower geometry, CMOS Analog Power Process technologies.

The Business:

ADI’s Custom Silicon and Consumer Solutions (CSS) business has been a key provider of high-volume consumer silicon solutions for the last decade, developing key products that enable highly precise human interpretation and sensory assistance. As part of a long sustainable growth plan, we are expanding our CSS power team, supporting the development of highly integrated power solutions and PMICs. The Team:

Custom Silicon Power (CSP) team is primarily focused on PMIC and hybrid mixed-signal / power developments, for High-End / High-Volume electronic devices, such as Smartphones, Tablets and Consumer Accessories. The CSS Power Team is expanding its focus in Power Solutions, across a broad range of IC engineering profiles and levels of experience, including Analog Designer, Digital Designer, Mixed-Signal Designer, Verification Engineer, Validation Engineer and Layout Designer.

The Position: Analog Devices, Inc. is looking for a PRINCIPAL ENGINEER - DIGITAL IC DESIGN ENGINEER to join our European CSS Power Team. The candidate will be self-motivated, willing to learn exciting new technologies and develop new products, but also be able to work effectively within a talented group of individuals across multiple development locations. The candidate will join a team of Analog, Digital, Mixed-Signal CMOS designers, Mask Layout designers, Verification and Validation engineers, Algorithm and Software developers, Packaging and Test engineers, implementing PMIC state of the art. The candidate will be involved in the following developments, from definition to production:

• LDO, BUCK, BOOST, BUCK-BOOST, CHARGE-PUMP, SIMO (Single-Input / Multiple Outputs), IBB (Inverted BUCK-BOOST)
• Power Sequencer, Oscillators, PLL, Bandgap, References, ADC, DAC, I/O, SPI, I2C, OTP, MTP, RAM, ROM, DFT
• Digital Interface, DSP, FSM and Sequencers

Responsibilities:

• Power IP Development
  • Define and contribute to the CSS product and IP Road Map
  • Streamline IP development, improve Team Flows and Methodologies
• Power Management IC Development
  • Drive next generation PMIC specifications, architectures, design, as well as pre-silicon verification and post-silicon validation
  • Provide guidance to physical design layout team
  • Develop optimal PMIC solutions, with consideration of power, performance, area, risk, resources, and schedule
• Technical Customer Interface Engagement
  • Participate in customer engagements, in support of technical feasibility and proposals
  • IC Development Weekly meetings / IC Milestone Workshops
  • In Production IC Support
• Human Resources Management
  • Support the development of a multi-disciplined team, including interviewing and recruitment support
  • Provide Mentorship and technical leadership, setting up framework and structure for efficient development flows
  • Enable a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Support project management, task planning, schedule and resources

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, with 15+ years of experience
• Experience in leading complex IC and IP developments, Digital Design experience with multiple products introduced into the market, with Integrated Power functions
• Strong technical and analytical background with good problem-solving skills
• Strong team worker with multi-discipline, multi-cultural and multi-site environments
• Good understanding of Mixed-Signal Design Flow and Top-Down development methodology
• HDL programming languages (Verilog / SystemVerilog)
• Digital Functional Oriented and Randomized Verification
• Assertions, Regressions and Coverage Closure
• Timing Constraints, Synthesis, Place And Route (P&R)
• Static Timing Analysis (STA), Logical Equivalency Checking (LEC), Gate Level Simulation (GLS)
• Design For Test (DFT), SCAN Insertion, Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG), Fault Grading
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

• Proficient with Cadence Suite
• Scripting languages (Shell, TCL, PERL, Python)
• Analog Behavioral Models (Verilog-A, Verilog-AMS, Wreal, SystemVerilog, EEnet)
• Mixed-Signal Verification methodology and tools (AMS / APS / Flex)
• IC Top-Level Digital UVM Verification (Universal Verification Methodology)
• Lab silicon bring-up and Production Test support experiences
• Experience with Multiple Power and Clock domains
