The Analog Devices Toronto Design Center is an innovative, highly focused and dynamic organization with a leadership role in the end-to-end systems solutions for high-definition digital media, portable/mobile platforms, and advanced analog to digital conversion (ADC). Our technology teams are developing the high-speed data converters (ADCs, DACs and Transceivers) based on the latest technologies, next generation of products in the areas of High Definition Video and Audio including the next generation HDMI, Video Signal Processors and their associated Embedded Systems.

We are currently seeking to hire an engineer who enjoys collaborating within talented and energetic embedded hardware & software development and test groups. In this position, you will be involved with the broad range of embedded system developments targeted for various ADI products. We need highly motivated and creative hardware/software engineers from electrical and computer engineering backgrounds with strong knowledge and experience.

The candidate will be responsible to design and development of digital systems, including FPGA system and embedded software system. Through this process, the candidate will improve the user experience with ADI products. The digital modules are developed for the ADI’s next generation communication solutions.

The candidate will develop knowledge and gain hands-on experience in embedded system design (including hardware and software) and RF, better preparing you for your career in the industry. 

Required Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software to control the digital modules using C/C++, python in Linux environment.
• Design and simulate the FPGA digital modules for 5G communication system.
• Debug embedded system using lab instruments such as signal analyzer, oscilloscope.
• Provide documentation & source control at every stage of the design and release.

Requirements / Advantages

• Experience with C/C++/C# programming languages and embedded software development.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g.: Pythons, Tcl etc.) and Linux operating system.
• Knowledge and experience in FPGA and digital design using Verilog or VHDL.
• Knowledge and experience with the process of digital design, simulation and verification.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Asset

• Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, I2C/SPI, memory, etc.
• Knowledge of digital signal processing and communication systems.
• Experience with bug/issue tracking tools and version control SW(Source tree, GIT)
• Experience with some of the EDA tools: ModelSim, Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus, Matlab/Simulink.
• Experience with FPGA (Xilinx, Intel) and strong hands-on debugging skills.
• Experience with RF lab equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscope, logic analyzers, etc.
