Applications Engineer – Power Controller (PWC) Team

The Datacentre and Energy (DCE) team is seeking a motivated, experienced applications engineer to provide support to our power controllers (PWC) team located at ADI Limerick.

Role Overview

As an Applications Engineer, you will play a key role in product development, customer success, and technical support. You will create reference designs, evaluate new products, develop documentation, and support customers throughout their design cycles.

Description of Job/ Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design, bench test, and debug electronic circuits, providing troubleshooting support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Perform debugging and root‑cause analysis for new and existing designs.
  • Execute thorough new‑product evaluations and test plans.
  • Support existing products for field applications engineers and customers.
  • Develop user guides, datasheets, application notes, and other reference materials.
  • Act as a customer advocate within development teams to ensure informed design decisions.
  • Contribute to test‑automation development to improve efficiency and repeatability.
  • Experience in the area of Temperature sensing electronics would be an advantage.

Required Skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience with schematic capture, PCB design, and simulation tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with lab equipment.
  • Strong teamwork, positive attitude, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with applications, marketing, field sales engineers, and customers.

Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Electronic & Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of semiconductor industry experience; Temperature Sensor experience is an advantage.
