Engineer I, Test Engineering - Product Development
Join ADI as an Associate Test Engineer to design and implement testing methodologies for cutting-edge semiconductor products. This entry-level position offers an excellent foundation for a career in test engineering while working with industry-leading technologies.

About the Role
As an Associate Test Engineer in our Product Development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cost-effective methods for testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. You will work across all phases of product development and manufacturing, preparing test and diagnostic programs, designing test fixtures and equipment, and completing specifications and procedures for new products. In this entry-level position, you will collaborate with experienced engineers to plan resources for testing activities and contribute to ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Develop Testing Methods: Create and implement cost-effective testing methodologies for validating systems and equipment performance
  • Test Program Development: Assist in preparing test and diagnostic programs to evaluate product functionality and performance metrics
  • Test Fixtures and Equipment: Support the design of test fixtures and equipment for evaluating product performance under various conditions
  • Test Setup Definition: Help define test setups that subject devices to various stresses required for standards compliance
  • Resource Management: Assist in planning labor, schedules, and equipment allocation for testing activities
  • Troubleshooting: Participate in troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve issues throughout product development phases
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure testing processes adhere to established quality standards and requirements
  • PCB Design: Contribute to the design of PCBs for test setups and evaluation boards


Must Have Skills

  • Test Case Development: Ability to create structured test cases that validate product functionality and performance against specifications
  • Diagnostic Testing: Basic understanding of diagnostic testing methodologies to identify product defects and performance issues
  • Test Fixtures Design: Fundamental knowledge of designing simple test fixtures to support product evaluation
  • Procedure Development: Capability to document clear testing procedures that can be followed consistently by others
  • Resource Planning: Basic skills in estimating resource needs for testing activities
  • Troubleshooting: Analytical approach to identifying and resolving basic technical problems
  • Quality Assurance: Familiarity with quality standards and their application in test processes
  • Qualification Testing: Understanding of qualification testing concepts and their importance in product development
  • PCB Design: Fundamental knowledge of PCB design principles for test applications


Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of experience in test engineering or a related field
