Engineer, Software Development Engineering
Analog Devices is seeking a Software Engineer to join our customer-facing solutions team supporting a broad range of industry leading high-performance linear solutions and standard products in end applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare and communication systems.
The Software Engineer is responsible for developing libraries, middleware, and applications interfacing our products to various embedded processors including FPGAs. As part of a cross functional team, the Software Engineer performs definition, development, implementation, and documentation of the software modules, and provides technical support for our global customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, implement and maintain user-centric software interfaces and core software components.
- Development and design of cross platform graphical user interfaces (GUI), preferably Qt.
- Provide customer support directly or through the ADI Engineer Zone forum
Essential Skills and Competencies:
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE) or Computer Science (CS) with minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in software design, implementation, and support.
- Strong knowledge of modern C++ including OOP, STL and GUI programming. Focus on code quality, reusability, and ease of maintenance
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python/JS/Bash/etc
- Experience working with build systems such as CMake
- Experience with SCM (git/svn)
- Strong debug, troubleshooting, profiling skills
Nice to have:
- Good understanding of electronics and embedded systems including data acquisition and signal processing concepts
- Knowledge of I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and other embedded communication interfaces
- Experience with GUI development with Qt
- CI environments (Azure Pipelines/ Github Actions/ Appveyor / Travis CI/etc)
- Ability to comprehend large and complex technical documentation.
- Experience in multi-platform and/or cross-platform development (Linux, Unix, Windows, Android, Embedded, iOS)
