Senior Manager – MDM Solution Architect

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Manager - MDM Solution Architect to design and implement MDM strategies that align with our Enterprise MDM product vision. The candidate will translate master data requirements into technical specifications and oversee solution delivery in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include recommending technical approaches for data management and integration, developing master data strategies, and ensuring data integrity across MDM domains. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, MDM technology experience, and a deep understanding of data architecture and ETL processes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Demonstrate expertise in MDM technologies (e.g., Informatica, Reltio), standard methodologies, AI/ML applications, data modeling, data quality management, and data governance.

• Organizational Leadership: Work closely with senior leaders within the function and across the Amgen India site to align engineering goals with broader organizational objectives and demonstrate leadership by contributing to strategic discussions

• Possess in-depth understanding of the life science domain and health care entities such as health care personnel (HCP), health care organization (HCO), Clinical trials, investigators, clinical sites, plan & players, etc.

• Possess good understanding of master data management concepts, industry-standard data sources, and standard methodologies

• Design and architect innovative end-to-end MDM solutions on platforms such as Informatica, Reltio etc.

• Leveraging GenAI, prompt engineering, and innovative techniques to improve MDM processes i.e., automate data cleansing, enrichment, and governance processes.

• Manage and recommend standard methodologies for designing cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud etc.) hosted MDM solutions

• Collaborate with DevOps and admin team to manage cloud infrastructure, including cost optimization.

• Able to collaborate seamlessly with technical architects and subject matter experts to design and architect solutions.

• Expertise in ETL concepts around data integration framework and pipeline setup, workflow automation, reference data management, data governance functionalities, etc.

• Demonstrate strong data engineering skills to perform data analysis and transformation, data profiling, data quality checks, pattern recognition, etc.

• Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in the data management landscape, including GenAI and its applications in MDM.

• Work with business collaborators to gather and translate business requirements into technical terms and drive team effort to design, build, and manage technology solutions that solve business problems

• Collaborate with other team members across the globe and ensure seamless communication and sharing/ undertaking tasks

• Exhibit outlook to bring continuous improvement, and innovation, and exhibit capability to learn new areas (technology, business domain, project management process) and drive similar efforts of team members

• Ability to make the right and timely decision on problem-solving by considering the broader picture, especially on approach, technical nuances, and planning.

• Follow Agile software development methods to design, build, implement, and deploy.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively with product teams

• Consistently contribute to researching & evaluating the latest MDM technologies through rapid learning, conducting proof-of-concepts, and creating prototype solutions.

• Identify trends and areas for improvement and make recommendations for enhancing data management practices

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

• Master’s degree with 8 - 10 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 - 14 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field OR

• Diploma with 14 - 18 years of experience in Business, Engineering, IT or related field

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in solution architecture, design and implementing MDM

• Strong knowledge of data management principles, data quality, and data governance standard methodologies.

• Experience delivering Master Data solutions through Agile methodologies for software implementation.

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, etc.

• Proficiency in Informatica MDM or Reltio MDM platform

• Strong understanding of GenAI concepts and their potential applications in data management, particularly prompt engineering.

• Versed with concepts like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Embeddings, and Vectorization.

• Comfortable with concepts of GPT Prompting and latest Large Language Model (LLM) trends (OpenAI, Open Source, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a leadership role within a pharmaceutical or technology organization.

• Experience with cloud platform services, visualization, data management, SAP MDG

• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards related to master data governance.

Professional Certifications:

• Informatica MDM or Reltio certification (preferred)

• Agile Certified Practitioner (preferred)

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical abilities to assess and improve master data processes and solutions.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data concepts clearly to technical and non-technical collaborators.

• Effective problem-solving skills to address data-related issues and implement scalable solutions.

• Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
