Enterprise Architecture is an organization within the Chief Technology Office at American Express and it is a key enabler of the company’s technology strategy. The four pillars of Enterprise Architecture include:

1.     Architecture as Code: this pillar owns and operates foundational technologies that are leveraged by engineering teams across the enterprise.

2.     Architecture as Design: this pillar includes the solution and technical design for transformation programs and business critical projects which need architectural guidance and support.

3.     Governance: this pillar is responsible for defining technical standards, and developing innovative tools that automate controls to ensure compliance.

4.     Colleague Enablement: this pillar is focused on colleague development, recognition, training, and enterprise outreach.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications including design, hands-on engineering, developing framework & tooling including prototypes, and code review, mentor engineering peers and own and drive transformation with various technology domains.
  • Function as an engineering leader on an agile team to build scalable software solutions through consistent development practices (tools, common components, and documentation).
  • Work closely with product owners for defining platform roadmap.
  • Debug software components and identify code defects for remediation.
  • Leads the deployment, support, and monitoring of software across test, integration, and production environments.
  • Design and develop APIs for high volume clients.
  • Design and build application integration with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Couchbase, or Cassandra
  • Demonstrate increased self-reliance to achieve team goals.
  • Influence team members with innovative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking.
  • Be a productivity multiplier for your team by analyzing your workflow and contributing to enable the team to be more effective, productive, and demonstrating faster and stronger results.
  • Mentor and guide team members to success within the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engg. or other technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience solutioning and developing Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring boot frameworks and Web services
  • 6 + years of experience in building microservices and deploying in cloud framework and knowledge of microservices architecture & design patterns.
  • 4+ experience in building, managing docker images, deploying docker containers by integrating with CI/CD pipelines frameworks and orchestration.
  • 4+ experience in working on wide range of database operations both for relational and non-relational databases like Couchbase, Elastic Search, Cassandra, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • 4+ years of experience developing JavaScript Frameworks, HTML, CSS, React.js and NodeJS
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile development, application design, software development, and automated testing
  • Knowledge working on Python frameworks and data processing using Apache spark
  • Preferable to have 2 + year’s experience in designing and developing messaging solutions using Kafka and messaging queues.
  • Thinking leader in building innovation and transformational technology strategies
  • Familiar with GIT and CI/CD processes leveraging Jenkins, XLR and Maven.
  • Good to have Handson experience on developing and deploying application on AWS or GCP cloud environment

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
