 Business Overview:

The Global Services Group (GSG) is comprised of several interconnected business units which collectively provide service on a global scale, playing a central role in helping American Express achieve its vision of being the world’s most respected service brand.

MIS & Advanced Analytics is responsible for crafting an outstanding Management Information System that provides all levels of operations teams the ability to: Understand Performance (Data Management and Metric/Report creation), and Drive Performance (Performance and Analytics Insights).

How will you make an impact in this role?

This role is in the MIS and Analytics team that supports Monitoring Transformation and Automation efforts being led by Control Management Organization for GSG. This team is responsible for managing the GSG testing program ensuring adherence to regulatory & procedural expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Work very closely with Control Management Organization and multiple GSG teams to help define, and execute Monitoring Transformation solutions with a view to automate risk-based testing. The individual would be responsible for writing complex codes and algorithms by tapping into multiple data sources in CS3.0/LUMI to implement the transformation solutions.
• Assist in building automated solutions by leveraging advanced analytical techniques from both structured and unstructured data.
• Simultaneous and End-End ownership from defining to implementation and refinement of KRIs (Key Risk Indicators) for multiple GSG processes by following an agile framework.
• Extend support during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of defined KRIs by understanding the underlying issues and implementing refinements in a short period of time.
• Enabling business user self-service through creation of advanced MIS/reporting capabilities with minimum manual intervention.
• Systematically identify out of pattern activities in a timely manner and address information gaps by providing timely insights, alerts and refinement solutions.
• Effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization across multiple time zones and regions.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with at least 2 years in Quantitative Business Analysis/Data Science with experience in handling large data sets
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent, preferably in a quantitative field, Post-graduate degree will be an added advantage
• Excellent programming skills on Hive/BigQuery/SQL/Python/PySpark is essential with strong understanding of Big Data ecosystems
• Familiarity with Statistical Packages, NLP, Machine Learning will be an added advantage
• Familiarity with Git infrastructure will be an added advantage
• Experience with BI, reporting and workflow tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc will be an added advantage
• Strong Data presentation & visualization skills
• Must possess strong quantitative and analytical Skills and be a conceptual and innovative thinker
• Project management skills and ability to identify and translate business information needs into insights and information cubes for ease of consumption in reporting and analytics
• Proven thought leadership, strong communication, relationship management and influencing skills
• Ability to work on multiple requests simultaneously, flexibility and adaptability to work within tight deadlines and changing priorities
