Focus:

Leads the design, development, and maintenance of scalable APIs that power our products and services. Works closely with leadership and multi-functional teams to build high-performance APIs that are secure, efficient, and easy to use. Plays a significant role in crafting the direction of data integration layers and adds to the overall architecture of centralized data platforms. Ensure quality of code and data through testing and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Champions the design and administration of high-quality, scalable, and secure APIs.
  • Writes clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to industry standard processes.
  • Aligns with leadership on engineering strategy and provide direction to junior engineers.
  • Collaborates with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and implement API functionality.
  • Develops and maintains API documentation.
  • Ensures API performance, reliability, and scalability through detailed testing and optimization.
  • Solves problems and resolves sophisticated issues related to API functionality.
  • Continuously improves existing APIs by identifying bottlenecks and performance issues.
  • Ensures alignment to coding, quality, and security standards.
  • Contributes to the architecture and roadmap of the platform.
  • Stays up to date with emerging trends and technologies in API development.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on API design and implementation.
  • 8+ years of experience working with databases.
  • 5+ year experience in engineering with python and/or java.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience with RESTful APIs, and knowledge of SOAP APIs.
  • Demonstrative skills with GraphQL.
  • Solid understanding of API security practices, including OAuth, JWT, and other authentication/authorization techniques.
  • Experience with API management tools (e.g., Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
  • Experience with load balancing and API rate limiting techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture.
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.

Echo Jobs has been exceptional in my job hunt where it provides one platform to job hunt and I don't have to open 10 websites just to look for a job. It has also helped me focus much on the job skill and the location filtering out the onsite jobs and remote ones. The only feature that I would request is to display fully remote jobs that are not restricted to a country since the one available shows ie, Remote, US yet. But if it could show remote only, that would be helpful not only to me but to other people applying for full remote and not tied to only US candidates

Simply put, it's the most up to date tech jobs aggregator I’ve found. I'm like... "I don't have to check 10+ jobs boards daily just to see if there's a new job listing? sign me up!" The filters are also quite helpful! The UI is very clean and straightforward. Love it!
