Role Description: 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the following indicative system safety artefacts in support of the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) UAS program:

• System Safety Program Plan (SSPP)
• Safety Case reports
• System Safety Artefacts
• Technical risk assessments and support system safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance to relevant standards and requirements
• safety plans for trial or T&E events

The candidate will also be required to provide SME advice in support of certification, integration and T&E planning and conduct activities

Essential Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering, or equivalent
• Systems Safety related qualifications (AQTF Level 9)
• Demonstrated experience as a system safety engineer for aviation products
• Experience with DASA regulations
• Completed all training courses to effectively execute the position and to hold the required Engineering Authority.
• Demonstrable experience in the management and execution of System Safety Principles within an Aviation Enterprise.

Desirable Requirements:

• Formal qualifications as a Weapons engineer or equivalent experience
• Experience in Guided Weapons
• Demonstrable experience in the management and execution of System Safety Army Aviation System Branch (AASB) Standard Operating Procedures/Functional Guidance;
• Demonstrable experience with:
• o Army Aviation System Branch (AASB) Standard Operating Procedures/Functional Guidance;
• o AASB Engineering Management System (EMS); 
• Demonstrable system awareness of Uncrewed Aerial Systems
• Experience with CASA and specifically DASA UAS regulations
• Experience with UAS
• Qualifications in reliability engineering or associated system safety fields

Required Security Clearance Level: NV1
