Role Title: Configuration Control Officer/Engineer

Role Description: We are seeking a Configuration Manager / Engineer (Level 3) to support Defence capability programs through the application of configuration management principles and practices. This Above the Line role will provide leadership in establishing, maintaining, and auditing configuration baselines, ensuring compliance with Defence standards and enabling traceability across complex systems.
The Configuration Manager / Engineer will work closely with engineering, project management, and commercial teams to embed configuration control across the capability lifecycle. The role requires strong technical knowledge, stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to operate independently in high‑pressure Defence environments.

Essential Requirements:
- 8+ years’ experience in configuration management or engineering roles within Defence or complex government environments.
- Degree in engineering, systems management, or a related discipline; or equivalent Defence industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain configuration baselines across multiple projects.
- Experience developing and applying configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools and databases (e.g., CMDBs, LSAR systems, or Defence‑specific tools).
- Strong understanding of Defence capability lifecycle and the role of configuration management in systems engineering.
- Experience conducting configuration audits and reviews to ensure compliance and traceability.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise across engineering, project, and commercial stakeholders.
- Must hold Australian citizenship and an active NV1 security clearance.

Desirable Requirements:

• Training or mentoring experience.
• Background in the ADF or APS Defence environment.
• Familiarity with Defence standards and frameworks, including ASDEFCON, DPPM, and Capability Life Cycle processes.
• Experience integrating configuration management with logistics support analysis and sustainment activities.
• Lead Auditor training.
