THE ROLE: As a Technical Lead Software Tool Engineer, you will drive the design and development of scalable web‑based engineering tools that improve productivity, debug efficiency, data visibility, and automation across validation and product development teams. You will work closely with globally distributed stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical direction, and translate engineering workflows into reliable, high‑quality web solutions. This role requires strong hands‑on full‑stack development skills, system‑level thinking, and the ability to lead and mentor engineers while remaining actively involved in implementation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Architect, design, and implement full‑stack web tools using modern backend frameworks (FastAPI, Celery, Redis, PostgreSQL) and frontend technologies (Angular, React) to support engineering workflows and large‑scale internal platforms. Architect and implement scalable microservices and RESTful APIs, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability across distributed systems. Lead the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of containerized solutions, leveraging Docker and Kubernetes to operate large production systems with strong emphasis on robustness and automation. Build, optimize, and maintain cloud‑native services on Azure, including designing secure, efficient deployments on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Produce high‑quality, well‑structured software using object‑oriented or scripting languages (Python, C++), including enforcing coding standards and best software engineering practices. Drive continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) improvements, ensuring seamless version control, branching strategies, and collaborative workflows using Git‑based systems. Collaborate closely with globally distributed teams to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, communicate design decisions, and deliver scalable engineering tool solutions. Participate in architectural decisions and technical design reviews to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of distributed systems Mentor junior engineers, contribute to cross‑team technical alignment, and lead initiatives to enhance system architecture, development productivity, and operational excellence. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Full-stack development expertise across modern tech stack including backend (FastAPI, Celery, Redis, PostgreSQL), frontend (Angular, React), and proficiency in RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous task processing. Proficiency in object‑oriented or scripting language such as Python, C++. Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable container solutions in production environments. Strong proficiency in Docker containerization and Kubernetes orchestration with proven experience deploying and managing containerized applications on cloud platforms, particularly Azure (AKS). Experience with source control and collaborative development workflows (for example Git‑based systems). Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with globally distributed teams. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. LOCATION: Penang, Malaysia #LI-JK1 #LI-Hybrid #Q1DCGPU Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
