Technical Lead Firmware Verification Engineer

AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: You will be a technical lead within the firmware verification group, building infrastructure for rigorous validation of firmware, enabling best in class quality for a wide range of upcoming AMD SOCs. Working alongside both firmware engineering and validation teams, you will engage in all aspects of verification, focusing on methodologies to drive improvements within the pre-silicon phase of SOC development. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software engineering with a desire to focus on quality assurance. DURATION: 12 month contract, with possibility to extend or switch to indefinite contract THE PERSON: You are passionate about software quality, with creative and effective problem-solving skills, a motivated, self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments. The successful candidate will have strong technical and communication skills, readily takes initiative, an excellent mentor, and is able to collaborate effectively. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop and maintain test frameworks towards improving efficiency of firmware verification. Verify firmware features on a wide range of pre-silicon platforms including simulation and emulation environments. Develop verification requirements, test plans and test cases by collaborating with firmware engineering and verification teams. Develop and maintain automated tools and scripts to capture metrics and results. Support debug and triage of failures within test frameworks, and automated workflows. Provide guidance to junior staff, supporting the team to resolve technical challenges. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Expert with software QA concepts, best practices, and procedures Experience creating and reviewing verification requirements, and test plans. Experience with software development tools such as Jama, GitHub and Jira. Comfortable with a wide range of scripting environments, such as: Python, Windows PowerShell, Linux, Bash, PHP. Familiarity with firmware architecture at various levels within the stack. Strong problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills. Experience developing low level software within with C & C++. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
