AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Test Validation Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the development of methodologies, the execution of system integration plans, and debugging of failures. As a key contributor you will collaborate with Architecture, Design, and Pre-silicon integration teams to improve post-silicon test content and provide feedback for future debug and test features. You will use and apply emulation and platform level tools and techniques to ensure zero quality escapes. THE PERSON: As a Systems Test Validation Engineer, you will deliver our next generation of system tests for our products. In this high visibility position, your systems engineering expertise will be necessary to find and resolve silicon platform issues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Verify and validate hardware products designed and developed in house at AMD using the standard qualification process developed within the electrical and functional I/O interface compliance group and participate in creating/improving all phases of test procedures and methodologies. Participate in defining/improving/executing test plans/procedures. Analyze the failures found in testing and support the internal design team to find the root cause of the issues. Characterize and validate various I/O interface on functional and electrical compliance using high speed capturing equipment. Communicate with various internal departments to resolve anomalies Participate in issuing internal/external releasable test reports. Perform the Software and Hardware level test using external and internal AMD test tools, including oscilloscope, analyzer, margin test tools, functional test, etc. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Post-silicon system integration Expertise with pre-silicon environments (Verification, Emulation, Bring-Up) Debugging skills at SoC (System on a Chip) and System level Experience with Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features Ability to program in C, C++, and scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.) Computer enthusiasts and excellent knowledge of current leading PC (Personal Computer) technology Effective communication skills including influencing and working across large multi-functional HW, SW, architecture teams Automation development for semi-conductor validation Self-motivated and able to work independently and effectively to meet time requirements ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related discipline preferred LOCATION: Markham, Ontario #LI-DW1 #LI-HYBRID Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance.
