AMD together we advance_ SENIOR SYSTEMS DESIGN ENGINEER THE ROLE: We are looking for a dynamic, energetic Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. The Server System Debug Engineer will create and enable innovative solutions that scale across multiple programs and teams in AMD's Data Center organization. In this role you will play a pivotal part in enabling the software stack used by the organization to effectively debug silicon failures of the next generation of AMD flag processors through developing debug tools or enabling the hardware associated with it. THE PERSON: We are seeking an individual who is not only passionate about hardware engineering and debugging but also possesses the necessary knowledge and experience to design and enable innovative solutions. The successful candidate will have a robust background in hardware design or validation and a passion to create software around them. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional technical initiatives Debugging issues found during the process, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs Working with multiple teams, and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time Working closely with supporting technical teams Engaging in other software/hardware modeling frameworks Collaborate on the development, testing, and maintenance of Python applications Collect and understand requirements from stakeholders and propose implementations of new features Collaborate with other AMD teams on different topics such as AI, cloud infrastructure, and software practices Innovate new ways of improving debugging through our software stack Create test plans for debug related IPs and plan their execution Develop test content for debug related IPs PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Programming/scripting skills (e.g. C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python) Knowledge of cloud-based architectures and infrastructure Knowledge of Design for Debug features (DFD) and post-silicon debug tools Knowledge of computer architecture, debug related experience Post-silicon validation experience Debug techniques and methodologies ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Masters degree in software or electrical engineering or related major with 1+ years of applicable experience Bachelors degree in software or electrical engineering or a related major with 3+ years of applicable experience Location: Austin, TX #LI-LM1 #LI-HYBRID At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position.
