AMD together we advance_ Senior Graphics Driver Audio Validation Engineer THE ROLE: As part of the AMD Embedded Processor Architecture, Engineering and Solutions (APAES) team, you will be playing a crucial role in validation on Audio Driver on Ubuntu Linux, Android and Yocto . This involves being hands on in creation of validation plans, test case, use case creation . Your work will enable Graphics driver validation team to improve the effectiveness through comprehensive validation coverage across all the features enabled on the graphics driver software stack THE PERSON: Seasoned Validation Engineer with background in various Linux flavors (Ubuntu Linux and Yocto Linux) and Android Strong awareness and adheres to software development life cycle Strong expertise on Audio Driver Validation on Linux, Yocto and Android Good understanding of Linux fundamentals and audio fundamentals Experience with audio transmission protocols like I2S/TDM, audio DAC/ADC Complete awareness of defect lifecycle from a software and hardware perspective Excellent communicator, inter personal skills, team player and future leader Self-driven, enjoys new challenges and quickly adapts to change in a fast-moving environment Interested in improving processes and solutions by challenging the status quo Highly Motivated engineer who should be a go getter in making sure user experience and quality of a software stack is not compromised Stays humble and grounded in the most challenging situations KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strong Individual contributor coupled with a capability to Lead validation teams Engage multi-disciplinary stakeholders for requirement gathering and issue resolving Interacts closely with key stake holders in making sure customer and user experience is given the highest priority Develop complete understanding of upcoming AMD Platforms, SOCs, IPs, tools, and programming libraries to create relevant and cohesive solutions KEY SKILLS: Must Have Expert level Linux Graphics driver validation expertise across Multimedia, Audio, Power Management, IO Derive Test Case and use cases creation from requirements ensuring 100% functional feature and non functional (stress, soak scenarios) coverage Validation Plan creation focused on Audio for Newer programs Defect Lifecycle: Make sure defects have complete information of what is needed for Development teams to debug issues Come up with requirements for automation team for having test cases automated, improve process efficiency Strong expertise on Audio Driver Validation on Linux, Yocto and Android Good understanding of Linux fundamentals and audio fundamentals Experience with audio transmission protocols like I2S/TDM, audio DAC/ADC Experience with audio DSP firmware validation Experience of validating audio post processing framework such as Audio Weaver, XAF or similar Experience of measuring audio latency Experience of validating audio feature at system level (heavy system load, suspend/resume etc.) Knowledge of ALSA lib and experience in using ALSA utilities Knowledge of various audio related use cases such as media playback, voice call, Noise suppression, echo cancellation etc. Strong background in embedded systems validation Familiarity with shell and python scripting PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Preferred 7+ years of commercial software test experience required.
