AMD together we advance_ THE ROLE: AMD Research and Advanced Development (RAD) and University Program are seeking a talented software engineer to join our software team transforming the productivity of designers working with heterogeneous system-on-chips. The goal of the team is to both improve design productivity and system performance of these platforms while delivering benefits across edge embedded devices and data-center software environments. You will join a small, high-impact group where we invent creative solutions to advanced technical problems and demonstrate the practicality of those solutions with proof-of-concept prototypes. We collaborate extensively with the AMD product groups to transfer the technologies that we develop into products that ultimately make our customers more successful. We also drive community growth with external partners through open-source projects and academic research partnerships. As researchers, we present work internally and have many opportunities to collaborate with industrial and academic partners. We regularly patent our inventions and publish our research. Additionally, we are expected to explore and assess new technologies with a view to bringing the most valuable of them into the company. We are committed to continuous learning! Responsibilities Investigate cutting-edge physical AI methodologies for AMD client and embedded platforms Develop C/C++ and Python that is deployed onto AMD platforms. Participate in open-source software creation, maintenance and continuous integration with GitHub repositories and development boards. Create and present physical AI educational materials to internal and external audiences Support AI applications cross AMD CPU, GPU and NPU Work closely with colleagues from other teams as well as partner companies and universities locally in Taiwan and the APAC region Publish and patent research results Job Qualifications PhD (preferred) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or MS with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Excellent knowledge and experience with machine learning techniques, physical AI models and robot embodiments. Experience with robotics software frameworks such as ROS or Gazebo is desirable Experience in Python programming, ecosystems and packaging techniques. Active participant in open source, GitHub repository maintenance and/or continuous integration software use.
