Software Development Engineer 2 (6 month contract)

AMD together we advance_ SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER 2 (6-Month Contract) The Role: Contribute to the team building and optimizing AMD Instinct Accelerators for HPC and AI/Machine Learning. The individual will be part of a development team which analyzes, develops, tests, and deploys software to make AMD the leading platform for HPC and AI/Machine learning applications, with a specific focus on Linux kernel mode development and open source contributions. The Person: The ideal person has strong technical and analytical skills in Linux kernel mode software development and open source contributions. They must have the ability to work as a member of a team, while also being able to work independently, define goals, scope, and lead their own development effort. Key Responsibilities: Work with internationally renowned world-class cloud providers to enable AMD Accelerators for HPC and AI. Develop AMD’s GPU virtualization solution spanning Linux GPU software to a variety of Hypervisors (including KVM, Hyper-V, VMware… etc.) Contribute to and maintain open source projects related to Linux kernel mode development. Work with cross-functional teams to further increase the solution lead between AMD and the competition. Preferred Experience: Excellent C/C++ programming and software design skills including debugging, performance analysis, and test design. Extensive experience in developing and debugging Linux kernel mode device driver software. Proven track record of contributions to open source projects, particularly in the Linux kernel. Experience in developing software in a Linux environment including commonly used tools.
