Translate customer needs and technology developments into software designs and roadmap elements, owning technical design over development projects and customer engagements. Enable large-scale compute workloads in life sciences by designing AI solutions in drug discovery pipelines, genomics etc. Actively drive technical content in customer discussions and internal alignment with other AMD teams. Collaboration with others The position is part of the life sciences workstream at AMD Silo AI. Collaborate with Life Sciences AI developers, customers’ technical teams, domain experts, and business development to distill their knowledge and prioritize the insights to develop them as part of our roadmap. Work with multiple teams located in Finland and internationally in the organization Communicate with clients evolving our technological roadmap to deliver on market needs Main goals for first 6 months Connect with local and international internal stakeholders and technical teams Take ownership of the technological roadmap and align with R&D leadership Understand and re-evaluate business KPIs for maximizing value Lead client projects discovering, scoping, and delivering product needs Triage the needs for Life Sciences GPU workloads team to evolve roadmap Ideal candidate profile Proven ability to design successful AI solutions and communicate the designs to technical teams, business development, and marketing, receiving consistent great feedback Experience in developing deep learning models for life sciences (graph neural networks, transformers etc.), scientific AI (e.g. molecular models or imaging), orhigh performance computing in e.g. computational chemistry or protein binding. Hands-on experience in working with large-scale machine learning/AI systems, compute infrastructure and crafting groundbreaking proof-of-concept demonstrations Industry experience in Pharmaceuticals preferred Required Skills and Qualifications Development experience with Python (required), C (preferred) and JAX Experience with Docker, Containers, Kubernetes components & subsystems Outstanding engineering skills in rapid prototyping and product development Strong understanding of computational drug discovery workflows. Experience with agentic frameworks for planning, tool-use, memory, and long-running workflow execution. MS or PhD or 5+ years if experience in Biomedical engineering, Computational Chemistry Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Locations Open to candidates based in Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and UK.
